Smith testified about different numbers on the call records... the calls to quickbooks...the calls to the bank... the defense highlighted who Chase called right after (CJ and Joey)

I am not sure when this will be up on youtube, I'm not expecting miracles after the way today went with the feed LOL

I hope it's not one of the jurors that keeps coughing non-stop because they won't have heard a word of anything. They should be sent home if it was my court just for distracting everyone else.

How can they when they only hear an hour here and there? lol And nothing seems to be in order, although Thursday and today seemed to be more geared towards QB's, but why not through in some phone records to confuse the issue!!!

I would love a legal perspective of all the delays and off times. I just cannot think this is good for any trial.

I think it may mean the opposite. Chase never cashes a check with the numbers 40.. anything. His checks are all in the 4200 range. Joey's are in the 4100 range. What I believe that check number means is exactly what I speculated before-that the Custom account is not being used as a "bank account" it is being used to monitor projects.

However, even with that usage you can still write checks only it will impact the project "balance" so in order to keep that accurate you have to delete the checks after, so as not to impact the project balances. The check number 4093 doesn't actually reflect any check that is going to be printed, it is just the number they each put in when writing checks by way of the Custom account.

Chase said that Joey gave him signed blank checks on the 4th, but they weren't all signed. He had to sign a few himself.

On a side note, there is a snapshot of four checks that are absolutely signed by Joey that are presented during the Carmen Garcia testimony. Joey's signature varies on those as well. I think Joey's signature varied. And LE doesn't appear to have ever brought in a handwriting specialist, so everyone is guessing on the signature, I think.

I'm just sitting here reflecting on this post. Very shocking diversions from the truth here. Will leave it at that for the sake of decorum.

I tried to watch a few times. I would hear a question asked, but then the feed went away and I never heard any of the answers. I gave up. This was the testimony I was most anxious to see. C'est la vie.

It was Chase claiming to have a heart attack years ago.
The way this post was published today, I thought Chase had a heart attack in the courtroom. Not the case.
He is still very much alive and kicking.

I just do NOT understand why the American Media is not covering this trial?
I guess for them, chasing down one of the Kardashians latest nearly nude, staged pictures, the latest he said/she said it was a sexual assault, or, what politician said what about the other, is all we should care about 24/7.
This is a horrible crime committed against innocent victims.

This court in California is a joke. IMO.
Laxidasical is an understatement.

I am sure that hardworking law enforcement employees worked hard to gather the evidence to finally bring Chase Merritt to the courtroom. YEARS of hard work.
Yet, the way this trial is being treated is as if this entire family is an after thought.
What?!?!?
The only news we get is from some person who occasionally tweets?
Weak tweets at that.

You must have missed the part where the 2 officers, Dugal and Fiske ask him what he did on the 8th, if he could walk them through his day, DUGAL says "it was president's day" and she says "it's a holiday", and Dugal even says "your kid wouldn't have been in school that day" 22:37 of the video. I think it's CJ on the phone that figures out that "last monday" was not presidents day. (this interview was on the 17th, President's day was the 15th, only 2 days prior)

I have been thinking, that maybe the family will bring suit against L.E., for flubbing things up, providing there is a conviction. And I certainly hope there is. Someone posted a video earlier, of the Mcstays and their babies in the car, driving to their new home. It was so touching (and INCREDIBLY sad) to hear them speak and the babies babbling, in the back seat, sounded so adorable.
Oddly enough, I tried to post a comment on an article about them, on the LA TIMES website and it was denied. I got a msg. that "comments from readers *in my area* were not being accepted."

This is sooo frustrating. I feel like I know LESS about this case now than I did when the trial started. I am so confused about every aspect of the case right now. That's not a good sign for the prosecution, considering I was pretty certain of CM's guilt, going in.

I could see them wanting to block some of us wacky Canadians but you? LOL

I have watched all those video's again recently. I had watched them all years ago, and some like the one's where they were driving to the new house and the other one where Joey is videoing the house actually give us good insight into the layout of the home, where it was, the street, the neighborhood, etc. And yep... those sweet little baby boys. Baby J making momma a perfect cappucino! And Bear playing with his first toy ever.. probably because he was jealous that Digger was getting all the attention! They really were just a normal family... everyone has issues... not everyone is gonna like you or your significant other... but they loved each other and they loved their kids, part of the reason I has always hoped that they said screw it and left everything behind way back when. It's all so very sad, regardless of how we think this trial is going.

katy... I am so unimpressed with this prosecution that I unloaded on my hubby and my daughter tonight LOL They all know that I follow these cases, we laugh all the time about destroying my hard drive if something goofy happens to Dad LOL Hubby knows the case a bit ... but my daughter didn't, I had her googling it before I even finished unloading!!!

I won't go into detail about what I'm unimpressed about, but to just name a few... how things in the preliminary hearing are not always matching up with what is being testified to now (I have actually copied the full prelim testimony and have been highlighting as we go what was either not true or misrepresented). Today, the fact that the pro's took out 1 of thousands of files accessed on the computer to imply that Merritt was on a computer in the home accessing a QB's bookmark, when in fact it was 1 of the thousands accessed around that time, and it was the system doing it, not a user, it kinda ticked me off. Was the prosecution just hoping that the defense wouldn't find that? wouldn't notice? wouldn't question it? Like c'mon! I expect more from the prosecution, doesn't everyone? They are usually held to a higher standard than a defense attorney... we expect to see that kind of trickery from them, or at least I do. I know not all prosecutor's are saint's, but argggggh!

Anyway, by the time I had unloaded, I figured out that what I'm most annoyed at is the fact that I have believed for so many years that Merritt was absolutely guilty and now because of the trial, I am second guessing that. They had me believing things that actually may not have been true all these years. I sure hope that everyone that thinks he is guilty with no doubts whatsoever, also takes the time to listen to all of the testimony, put aside the hatred for Merritt, put aside his past, and just listen to the evidence .... or lack of. I hope the prosecution can change my mind as the evidence comes out... but it's not looking good right now LOL
