Ryan Smith didn't include the azimuths in his analysis?! What?! And he didn't note first and last towers pinged on given calls. Oh boy.

Is Smith a cell tower and azimuth analysis expert?

I have to wholeheartedly agree with this. Having personal contact with him for almost two years, I can tell you he is very much how he was to the reporter in the interview, not the dapper guy seen on E Investigates.

I went back and forth between Vick and Chase. Before the remains were found, both had these shady pasts and were leaves to the wind. Vick was my top guy up until Chase was arrested, because he had violent tendencies, made threats against people's lives and knew the desert.

I am curious about the sale of EIP and how that came between him and these drug dealers.

IIRC, Once the family was "gone." DK was really the only one who had access to the domain name and the website itself including the back-end
payment "cart." Also, IIRC, that portion of the business was the drop-ship side for pre-manufactured units. Since the family had no expertise of the biz, he was probably free to make the deal without a lot of interference. There was one account that DK owed them about $100k - have no idea about the validity of that. The idea was that he erased the debt and got some extra cash out of it. Joquin Quintero and Matthew Schneider were the buyers with involvement by Patrick Malow. JQ and MS IIRC were asserted to be dealers so it seems entirely possible that drug monely laundering was at the heart of the deal. I have some notes and there are still links out there about JQ and MS.

Hope this isn't all stuff everyone knew.

Probably later that afternoon when Mike testified he drove down and arrived there... Pechanga is just north of Fallbrook and quite a drive from Rancho. The better question is why was Chase down in that area and not at another casino

Looks like he found a new casino once Joey moved to that area? Just look at the dates. If you look really hard, you will notice more info about this time in the casino. I think I know what JMarsh is talking about, at that is just at first glance! I want to see the cell records that go with these and we are going to freaking miss then.

No the crosses are right above where the graves were and the wash is several feet away from that and maybe 2-3 foot lower. This wouldn't be an area where there would be standing water either but maybe a few leftover small pools here and there.

I could not see anyone attempting to drive out there during a rain, heavy or otherwise. It would be miserable. And dangerous.

And it rained on what day?

You know... I can usually come up with this stuff pretty quick haha but I am so tired and probably should just be in bed LOL got a whole 3 hours or so of sleep before working today!

And now Jmarsh has me watching this video LOL

You don't know me well enough to know who or what I am. I am not apologizing for anyone. I am analyzing the evidence. I you want to discuss the evidence I'm happy to discuss this with you, otherwise, not so much.
I think you are taking 'apologist' too literally.

a·pol·o·gist
Dictionary result for apologist
/əˈpäləjəst
noun
noun: apologist; plural noun: apologists
  1. a person who offers an argument in defense of something controversial.

I do not think OP meant anything disparaging. You're just our go to guy for getting views in favor of CM.

Let's talk about this more tomorrow. There is so much in Ryan Smith's new "report" that helps the defense, he should have wrapped it up and given it to them as a belated Christmas gift. Unbelievable.

Don't drive drunk. Don't generate evidence under the gun.

Early morning Feb 5th. There is something in the warrants about this, a patrol officer out near the site reporting about the rain. There's a lot of contention Chase was there in the rain but it wasn't at least around 11 am when he made his calls.

Thanks Force Ten! I do recall that in the search warrants, just not the day.

I was trying to figure out if it was more likely that he dug the graves on the 5th... burial on the 6th... now I have watched the video with the rain that day... I just can't see digging in that kind of rain...

carry on... LOL

Patrick McStay was arrested for cashing bad checks shortly after the family went missing.. I believe the warrant was out of Louisiana. Should he be charged with murder considering SB withdrew funds? What's funny is I actually recall Patrick McStay being arrested for check fraud regarding a casino? Ring a bell any old timers?

It does, but Patrick McStay isn't on trial here.

Ok... I have to ask this again... why the heck is the prosecution coming up with "new" stuff as the trial is going on?

Just as an example today... why was Smith doing up these charts just this week??? And how does the prosecution get away with this?

This isn't in regards to guilt/innocence or even the information that is being presented specifically. It's in regards to being prepared, handing over discovery, and everyone knowing what the heck is going on... and we have Smith making new reports and testifying like he did today? The State has had 4 + years to prepare. It makes them look sloppy IMO

Couldn't have. Not according to Ryan Smith's ping analysis.
Another explanation is his phone pinged that tower on the way there and again on the way back north, I'll have to go back and listen. He did testify that his analysis didn't prove exactly where the phone was so if there was a significant gap in pings between the two it could just mean he traveled by the casino which I believe is right off the highway?

Totally agree, I don't really see why that was even necessary to do, the transaction history was more than enough to establish he had a gambling problem. Also the fact that they had checks and didn't give them to the cpa doesn't look good on their part.

wow... so they found a disk this morning that was not looked at by anyone and not handed over to Merritt's attorney's?

I am just learning this now ehenson! LOL about the checks on the disk or whatever it is... I'm a little stunned to be honest. How is it that NO ONE posted this early today???? I get that most here think that Merritt is guilty, but this is a something that could have implications on the trial or the outcome of this trial, regardless of his guilt.

I would love a legal opinion of this.

And then everyone wonders why I post the things I do... because no one else does *sigh*

So so many have let down, or dropped the ball on this family of four. There's almost no coverage of this trial where I live. And I live in Fallbrook!!!

I have been waiting for nine years. I remember when they went missing and I hoped they were in Mexico but never really believed it. Then I saw an interview with Chase and I said to myself "I bet HE murdered them". Years later and he was arrested I said "finally". This family has been on my mind for almost a decade and I live in Sweden.

I met a reporter during the Christopher Lee (Erin Corwin) trial. I just sent her a message asking if she would be able to attend the trial and either tweet or join here and report.

She lives in San Diego I don’t know the distance to San Bernardino. I will let you know what her response is. She did a great job reporting in the Lee Trial.

I was thinking that maybe we should tweet reporters in the San Bernardino area. The local paper or radio there maybe?

I will look some up and link any here, so we can all send out polite requests...:p

I did send a nice note to Wildabouttrials, and I will contact Dan Abrams on twitter as well. He has the power to make things happen...lol

ETA: And thank you for reaching out to this reporter. I hope she is interested...we need help.
