Skilled is a very broad term. Good description for surgeons, sculptors, storytellers, grifters.....I actually think he's awesome. This is a very skilled defense team.

This 'gambling testimony' is very damaging to Chase, in my opinion. It really hurts his assertion that Joey wanted to give him more access to the business bank account.
ohhh I can't wait to rewatch some of this. What did he say the misconduct was? Talking to the FA?
It's amazing how much money he was taking out of the business and squandering even before he started stealing
I think it will also make the jury wonder if Chase really had all his tools stolen.![]()
This is the last time I am going to respond regarding this subject lol
Graphs and charts are not the same as an interpretive summary. My 8th grader can plug numbers in a chart. Isn't the purpose of a forensic accountant to analyze and interpret those charts? What the judge meant was that if the forensic accountant's interpretations, if any, weren't already included somewhere in the charts and graphs then the defense is entitled to that in a summary.
cross coming after lunch.
No doubt the DT is gong to argue that just because the cell pinged at the tower by Pechanga or San Manuel, it doesn't mean Chase was actually in that casino gambling.
I heard VV got an inch and Big Bear got a foot.OMG LOL I'm so sorry to anyone that lives there! I told you if it was going to happen it would be on a court day![]()
It is common, but only for heavy gamblers. You cannot stay that long unless you have a lot of cash to spend.
The FA maintained his cool. I kept waiting for him to say to Maline, I got no dog in this fight!
The prosecution better be sure that no one on that jury has ever had financial difficulties, or someone close to them that has a gambling issue and has not killed anyone.

I wonder if anyone in the jury box knows someone with gambling addiction in their own life listening to all this and feels the wheels turning. The prosecution better be sure that no one on that jury has ever had financial difficulties, or someone close to them that has a gambling issue and has not killed anyone.

I was wondering about that, too. How often do they have these tournaments? I had a friend that went to the World Series of Poker every year. Think it was in Jersey?? Maybe Atlantic City?I haven't been able to watch... but they keep mentioning Poker tournaments??? what's up with that?
I'm just going to address the casino thing real quick.. with the understanding that I have not watched the testimony yet from this morning and glimpsed at it yesterday, but mostly just looking to see where he spent his money LOL
I DO like going to the casino... by withdrawal amounts would be MUCH MUCH less than Chase's from what I have read in your awesome updates. BUT sometimes it's not about the amount that is being spent, it's about the over extending yourself (which seems to be the case with Chase, but want to see the evidence) I spend what I can afford to lose, period, and if I win and walk out with more, that's great! But that's me (and sometimes I would spend more, but that's why I have a hubby that reminds me I can't hahaha)
That being said, just because YOU don't use the ATM's there, doesn't mean other's don't. I do all the time, and sometimes I will take out say $60, with the intention of only spending $40 and leaving if I lose. Now, I'm not really buying what the defense is selling... UNLESS they can show that say... he took out $500, and that same day paid $400 cash for something else. I am not sure if they can do that, we won't know until they present their own case. I suspect they won't.
As for the time... I think a lot depends on if you are winning LOL I could easily spend hours at a casino if I was winning... but I also know when to take my winnings and leave. Not everyone has that control.
IMO the defense should just say "hey, he's got an addiction, just like someone that has an addiction to drugs or alcohol, it's a mental illness but it doesn't make him a killer".
JMO and sorry... this was longer than "just quick" haha
I wish I could tell you. I live close to Pechanga and I've stepped foot in there
Maybe 3 times in 15 years. An hour at the most. But I'm no gambler. I could see how hours could slip past quickly if one is playing the tables with a load of cash.
I think it will be bad for the defense if there is someone on the jury who has someone close to them with a gambling issue. Even if they haven't killed anyone, they may have been irresponsible and dishonest towards friends, family coworkers, IF they have severe gambling issues. And Chase seems to have severe issues if he cannot pay his family's rent and bills. But he can spend more than 35,000 bucks in Indian casinos.
