I posted a few pages back a big chunk of it, at least the part that talks about what they caught CJ/CM talking about, that might help There was more to the hearing before and a little after, but if you want to know the bulk of what they caught on the recording, it's there.

Yes. You have to listen all the way to the end. At the end the judge actually reads the transcript of the conversation that is in question-and frankly, I don't find it all that damning. But others might disagree.

The defense is not letting anything be taken for granted. This case is worth the view, just to watch those men at work.

What I found most interesting in the exchange about the 4th between the 2... Mr. Merritt telling Ms. Jarvis he was home, she says she knows... it was a Thursday, you would have been at the school.... Phone rang, you saw it, obviously, I didn't, I never remembered that phone call, ever, I still don't to this day.

These are statements made when they don't think anyone is "listening"

I want to know why on Thursday she would be at the school? They still think that she saw that call come through at 8:28pm but Chase didn't answer it, he still doesn't recall it though. I do recall a week or so ago, McGee showed someone that there were 2 calls on Joey's records, but only 1 on Chases.... I wonder if they are going with 'it didn't register on Chase's'? I will have to see if I can find that later or tomorrow.

Because these are the parents of three kids...

Everyone forgets that in addition to whatever else Chase was up to, he was a parent. And from all accounts an involved parent. Juggling three kids and work and all the other stuff, it's like a three ring circus. A parent' s mind is sucked right out of them when at least two of the children are very young-and I believe that two of Chase's children were about the same age as Gianni and Joseph.

Chase Morgan... the defense received some records a few weeks ago from them..

Arrowhead medical center - that's where Chase received treatment.

Google and Microsoft - they think they can do whatever they want haha I would say that out loud, but they are probably listening to me

They were school age when he was arrested, but I'm not sure if they were when the McStays went missing.

While I'm disheartened that it seems CJ, and CM talked about shoring up his alibi and other things, I'm very thankful the conversations were recorded by Smith.

If not, we wouldnt have ever known this was going on, and neither would the jury.

I dont know if CJ will be called to testify. She isn't really needed in order to get the recorded conversation in.

Smith can just retake the stand, and he can verify he did the recording, and what was discovered.

The recordings stand for themselves.

Imo, I dont think the jury will be all that incensed to hear LE believed she may have tried to give him a false alibi, and could be arrested herself if she had any involvement after the crime.

I think the jury will also wonder if she tried to lie and cover up for him.

These recording will only heighten the jury's suspicions about CJ.

I am definitely suspicious about CJ as soon as the family were missing she would of recalled that night, why wouldn’t she?

So Chase missing for multiple hours and not answering his phone call. Then the days afterwards as well.

The phone records showed conflicting information as to Merritts and Jarvis whereabouts per their statements - From the warrants.

Merritts phone records indicate the calls to her a mile and a half from the grave sites. The other frantic calls. She had to have known what went down. No one can be that stupid.

Detective Smith was right on her tail and captured these conversations. He is absolutely dedicated to convicting this brutal remorseless killer and I hope anyone standing in the way gets what they richly deserve.

To me, it's still rather difficult to believe that neither Merritt nor CJ can remember that evening at all.

Yes, originally CJ said she was at home and saw a call come in that did not register on his cell records, and when faced with that as well as the calls she made to Merritt, she says she must have been remembering another evening (according to search warrants) - why is the 4th such a memory black hole for the both of them? Why was it for Merritt less than 2 weeks later in his interview? Esp. when he had detailed recall of every bit of minutiae leading up to it?

And his way of 'prodding' her memory in that recording is (paraphrasing) 'the way I envision that evening...'?

And if he had been 'at the club house watching movies with the kids', who was at the McStays printing a check made out to Merritt?

BTW, when is the truck video guy (Rudin?) supposed to testify?

As for threatening to take kids ... that's horrible. That's why I'm not so sure the Prosecution really wants the defense to be able to play those LE interviews if there are any threats to CJ in them.

Really? If she is/was complicit, that's pretty much what would happen. She's not some lily white, bible toting moral bastion of angelic proportions. CJ is/was hooked up with a multiple felon. He already HAD a record. She had children with him. She more than likely benefited from some of his crimes. You can't live with a criminal and claim ignorance.
LE was giving her the "CYA" option. That was her opportunity to tell what she knew, and if it didn't fit the facts, there would be repercussions.
LE will tell you that significant others are the ones most likely to spill the beans.

Did the casinos allow CM to take his 3 children with him when he gambled?

That's the only way I can think of CM saying he was an involved parent.

He didnt even seem to be an involved worker, so it's hard for me to believe he was an involved dad.

I was so hoping CJ would be one of those significant others who wanted to come clean.

Starting a new life based on honesty in order to give her children a better foundation to have a honest meaningful life built on integrity.

Its heartbreaking to know she has still chosen the life of deceit, and deception.

#McStay - CORRECTION: Catherine Jarvis is a defense witness not prosecution. Also, judge will allow the prosecution to cross examine Jarvis about the jailhouse recording of Merritt talking to her about his whereabouts on Feb 4, 2010.
