So if Juanita is so blitzed off of pain meds and out of her mind and drooling, how can she vouch that the two timed felon was actually visiting her? She is not a very good grave alibi.

So now, the jury has to take the two timed felon at his word that:
Joey told him to write the checks to himself
Joey told the two timed felon to impersonate Joey and call QB and delete the whole thing.
He was at the clubhouse watching movies and left his phone at home and/or took his phone but had really bad reception.
He was unfortunately visiting his unfortunate drooling sister who unfortunately can't really remember squat. And she just so happens to live near the graves, unfortunately.

Oooookkkkkkkk

Yes, this is entirely possible. Remember that Chase had a criminal record, it is not uncommon for family to not want to get involved and/or want to protect their loved ones. She may have originally been saying she hadn't seen Chase in an effort to distance herself from him in order to protect him. It's important for everyone to remember that not every family is like your own. This type of behavior in families with criminal pasts is very common. You don't have to like it or agree with it, but that's the way it is. Ultimately the jury will decide whether her testimony if credible and/or important to the case.

It's something that is not at all uncommon with wrongful convictions. The defendant lies about something they don't want LE to know about, that actually has nothing to do with the crime they are being interviewed about-they get caught in that lie, and then it is assumed they must be guilty of more.

In this case, the sister probably did lie about Chase visiting her, because she thought that would make him look guilty. She didn't realize that lying to cops would actually make things worse for him.

Are they looking to Brother Bennett for reasonable doubt? He can’t drive himself anywhere? Seriously?! This entire family is an example of dysfunction. Any of them could have been an accomplice. Is their mother still alive? I pray not!
Hopefully the there is no honor among thieves scenario will play out in justice for the McStay family. There is no honor among addicts BTW! What a bunch of interesting individuals are the characters in this?

I wonder why the prosecution hasn't brought that email into evidence? They have talked about it, but we haven't actually seen it..

Because it probably doesn't help them.

That is a tactic she can use to NOT testify against CM, IMO. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes either.
It could be. And I agree, I wouldn't want to be either. But there is no denying that she is not healthy, I guess unless you think CM is 100% guilty, in that case she is full of poop and it doesn't matter.

oh cmon... did you see the video? is that someone that looks "healthy"?

Didn't say she didn't look healthy, but she definitely wasn't drooling.

A medical diagnosis of a stroke does not require a precription for pain pills. Although I do believe she hadn’t seen CM in 5 years, could CM have stolen medication from her to drug JM with without her knowledge? YES!!!
Addictive tendencies have a genetic component and we know CM had an addiction to gambling.

She had just had surgery, that is why she was on drugs, but she had strokes previous.

Exactly! So if we throw out her testimony, then we have to take the two timed felon at his word when he says he was visiting.

Did they ask her if anyone was there? Smith said he didn't go in the house.
Smith said she put her dogs in the house. They sat outside. If she was "out of her mind" why did she feel inclined to put the dogs in the house? And if someone was there, shouldn't they have done it if she was "out of her mind"?

Okay, let's pretend ALL of the above is true. Everything is on the up and up.

Can you explain why Chase told the detectives that Joey gave him those checks at lunch on the 4th? The same checks that he actually created himself, AFTER the 4th.

WHY would he tell them a lie like that^^^---if it was as you say, all on the up and up?

I'm curious, because I can't recall... did he ever say that he gave him the cheques and they were filled out? Lying by omission?

The only rational motive for murder in all this, is if Joey was going to fire Chase. There is no evidence of fraud because there was a check cashed the week of the disappearance, Joey was on the phone with his bank and did not report fraud, did not change passwords, did not call QuickBooks to report unlawful use of that program.

Chase had 100s of thousands more reasons to keep Joey alive, than to kill him.
Your interpretation. We shall see. Maybe JM did none of this because he ran out of time? Someone murdered him and his wife and two babies. Who had reason to? His brother? DK? All roads lead to Mr.Merritt. And it was personal. MOO.

So she said. Again I don’t want to discount anyone’s legitimate medical issues but the pot is full IMO.

Sorry Missy. I don't believe her,

I didn't say you had to, and that's ok, I don't know if I do either, but no way I could tell you whether she is lying now or then or both.

They displayed it as an exhibit though.

IMO it was likely that Joey would advance the necessary funds to purchase supplies that were required for fabrication of the fountains. Upon completion of the project, and payment from the customer, Joey would balance the ledger determine the profit, and ultimately distribute final payments. That is not an unusual business model for small contractors, with sub-contractors who need to pick up extra parts or components while in the field.

This is how I am "self-employed" now. This is probably why I can "see" it.

In my experience, when someone is on pain meds including myself, if you are an honest person, you tend to be honest while on said meds, in some cases even brutally honest. I've experienced this "honesty" with pathological liars.
With someone who has an illegal addiction to pain meds, liar, liar, pants on fire.

Now she has an illegal addiction to pain meds?????

Missed today. Hubby had emergency quadruple bypass. Whew. 6 hours in surgery. I see that you all have been busy.

Old medical person here. I never buy into these medical excuses. Memory loss from having stents, drooling or being on meds. All BS, IMO.
