Emi from tweet said:
McGee say he notes there is a jump in video; Michley says it looks like she turned on the porch light about then. She said she believed she turned it on because she heard noises that she can't describe, image from camera was not good, so she turned on light.

well - than she DID hear something that night - noises??

@Emi , thanks for taking the time to post tweets. It's a lot to keep up with and appreciated by the many who can't watch live.

OK neighbor off stand and excused. Morning break. Michael McStay returns after break. Yesterday, his testimony was audio only.

yep - defense scored 1 for the prosecution by bringing to light that the neighbor heard noise that caused her to turn on the porch light.

Now redirect from Rodriguez, She asks about switching on the porch light, Would she have turned it off when she went to bed? No Michley said. She also agrees that skipping noted in videos could be caused by motion detection mode.

She's a terrible witness for the prosecution. The video clips do nothing more than create confusion and doubt, which really helps the defense. I beginning to wonder if the prosecution has any idea of what they're doing.

The passage of time makes it very hard on these witnesses. I recently has to appear in court as a witness and it was in a much tighter time frame than the 8 plus years for the McStay family. It is not easy, stressful and a very emotional time for the family and those that are testifying.

The Trooper had to have been driven and abandoned, then Chase (or whoever) went back to bury the bodies putting the Trooper key in Joseph's pocket before burying. So where were the bodies? Still in the home?

***ok i get it...cause that's what I was thinking abt when you said that..."where'd he keep the bodies"

Maybe there were 2 sets of keys to the vehicle.

Michael McStay, reviewing police report, says he told investigators the last time he contacted his brother Joseph was on Feb. 1 2010, by phone. Cannot recall conversation.

Michael says alerted Feb. 9 by father, who said he received email from Dan Kavanaugh that no one had heard from Joseph for several days. Michael called mother, who told him she had been in touch with Merritt, who said he was going to the McStay home in Fallbrook that day.

Tells Imes the passage of time of no contact, Feb. 1 to Feb. 9, would not have been unusual or a cause for concern, both men had busy lives.

Told Imes that it brought "some concern" but perhaps brother on small vacation but also knew someone -- Merritt -- had "eyes on the house."

Michael said he talked to Merritt on Feb. 9 something to effect he was down there checked dog water bowls put out food for dogs and would be checking on house during the week. Said believed he tried to reach brother by cell phone but could not

After jurors dismissed, Judge warns all in court including media and spectators not to discuss the case in halls and public areas of courthouse as Jurors and witnesses could be present.

Man, I've spent hundreds of hours on this case. Driven past the McStay home. Visited the gravesite way back before the arrest - such a creepy experience.

I would NEVER have believed it was Merritt alone who slaughtered this family. Not that he hadn't the capability. Its just that I was sure, with so many greasy characters involved in the picture (and one in particular), that it wasn't Merritt alone.

There are a few of us here that spent hours on this case in those first few years! I mainly posted on the old CourtTV forum, but came over here when it closed. I can't even remember if I posted much here about it, but would always come to read updates. Many many many crazy theories of who could have done it or where they could have taken off to!

Can't remember the mods at that time. I do remember poster WhiteRabbitt and the two you mentioned. We had tens of thousands of posts over the years. Shame they are all gone.

There are still old threads here, but they are in the Private Forum :) I won't link them here but you can find them if you look ;-)
