Found Deceased CA - Jolissa Fuentes, 22, Selma, 7 Aug 2022

People with tattoos and piercings are less desirable to traffickers for a few reasons, for example, she had a dermal, that would be an identifying feature even if they took it out, she'd still have a gaping hole in her cheek. They'd likely avoid taking her because of it.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't have a clue. They said themselves over a week ago they didn't suspect any foul play in their presser, and made if seem as if they were confident they'd eventually find her in the area searched when the vegetation falls flat. Maybe they're tying to make someone comfortable enough to slip up, or maybe they truly believe that. Either way, we won't know for sure until there's significant movement in the case or they hold another press conference.

As for the tattoo, several family members have gotten Jolissa's name tattooed on them, and in my opinion it's their way of handling grief, and likely feelings of guilt for not being able to be there for her. It feels like a way for them to express being ride or dies for her and yes people often get tattoos of people's names to memorialize them but I don't necessarily think that was the intention of her family. From everything they've told us, they believe she is still alive and coming home safely. Is there likely some denial or blind faith there? Yes, but I think they need thay to get through this all in one piece.
on my way to get more tats and piercings then... ha.

but they could remove her dermal. piercings are easily removable. there's makeup out now that entirely covers tattoos.

agreed with your bottom paragraph

Honestly had the same thought, if it potentially saves someone's life, long live human coloring books. There are also more sinister reasons they don't like them as well, not just identification.

Dermals actually aren't easily removed, if you're curious about the process definitely look it up but it would be near impossible to remove without causing a gaping hole in her face because it's screwed into an anchor embedded in the skin. Even if they go it out cleanly somehow, she'd very likely have a visible scar where the hardware used to be.

I don't think anyone can rule out any type of accident. Sex trafficking is a possibility but if she was kidnapped why would anyone go towards Avocado Lake area?

I'm still leaning towards she was in an accident and she just hasn't been found yet.

Easily my take and/or self harm given the amount of attempts to reach others at crazy hours of the morning

New interview with Doug Bishop of AWP. He states that the focus is now on a criminal act - human trafficking. Perhaps that way the family can keep up hope that Jolissa is still alive. How could they rule out another type of accident?

They also talk about the plans to search for Annette Adams in the video. Does she have a separate thread here?

Obviously, we aren't privy to LE information and while I respect what they're able to do on the waterways but what makes them experts in criminal cases? I think their hearts are in the right place but I feel they're spreading themselves too thin. It's like Jared from AWP talking about Kylie's tires. An expert (or even a simply educated person in that field) would have known what Jared was saying was incorrect. They can keep saying essentially, we provide the where and it's not our job to learn the why...If that's the case, quit talking about the "why"

Just reviewing...where are you Jolissa?

Snipped...
...Norma told Dateline that after leaving the party in Selma, Jolissa headed home to her grandmother’s house, where both she and her brother Joey live, about a minute away from the gathering.

What is an emergency ping, as stated in the article?
Why is there still nothing about the CCTV footage LE allegedly discovered after Jolissa was captured on footage in the convenient store/gas station?

After watching the police presser, I checked out the areas that her family searched directly after she went missing. After playing around with the streets, I realized that if she took Nebraska to Fowler and turned east on Manning, it would take her on a truck route which would be faster than just taking back roads.

This is where I'm thinking she was possibly caught on camera somewhere, as there are likely more cameras in that area. After further digging, I realized this route would take her into the town where she worked at the packing plant. Usually people take the route they're familiar with, and this would be one of the more practical ways of getting to Parlier. The packing plant is right off the main road, Manning.

Now, this is all speculation and just my own opinion, but I'm wondering if she went that way to get food. She's familiar with the area, and it's one of the only places to get real food at 4-5 AM. There are a few taco trucks and places and such she was likely familiar with because she worked there, and because she was on her way to smoke, she might have stopped to get food first and gone in that direction with that purpose. Taco trucks are also typically cash only, so it could also explain why she didn't use cash at the ampm. My friends and I do it all the time to avoid driving high, we get our food, head to a spot, smoke and eat our food in nature. By the time we're done, we're safe to drive. I'm genuinely wondering if it was as simple as she was hungry and went that way for food. Either encountered trouble while there, met someone she knew there, or was followed out of there.

Reposting because the rules are always changing but take a look on the FB page for a recent post about a woman a few towns over doing a delivery run alone at night on a backroad & being targeted by a truck with a trailer who not only kept trying to stay side by side with her, but also tried to blind/stun her by shining a bright yellow light into her eyes. There are many accounts in the comments of similar interactions in nearby areas. If Jolissa had indeed taken the route above or similar backroads and ended up in the truck route area for food or whatever reason, it's possible her car can't be found because it ended up in the back of a trailer.

IMO if she was trafficked and it wasn't an accident or personal/gang related, they likely have moved her further from her belongings and because her case is getting so much attention, they probably haven't kept her around alive either. I don't think she's anywhere near her car or belongings in that case, so we might not ever find those things because they've likely destroyed them to cover their tracks.

I’ve been seeing posts over and over saying that 2 other members of Jolissa’s family have gone missing in the past; had anyone looked into that claim and confirmed?

A Facebook group filled with thousands has come together in an attempt to locate the missing 22-year-old.

Tips on these posts include asking if anyone has checked cornfields.

One person claimed they saw a vehicle matching the description of Fuentes’ car with a license plate only a couple of numbers off from hers.

Another question raised in the group is whether it’s possible someone could have thrown her phone and belongings into the lake where her phone last pinged.

Fundraisers are being shared as ways for the family to earn money to hire a private investigator

Jolissa’s family believes she drove to a rural area east of Selma that has orchards and vineyards. They believe Jolissa went there to clear her head after her best friend, Javie, died tragically last year. Jolissa’s sister, Irene Fuentes, told MEAWW, “Javie was murdered.” “At a party, he got into a fist fight, and the other person pulled out a gun and shot him.” Jolissa and Javie went to school together, and he was in his early twenties when he was killed.

‘Bring my baby girl home,’ says Jolissa Fuentes’ mother, Norma Nunez, in a desperate plea for help.

Jolissa Fuentes’s disappearance: Her mother believes she is alive but is a ‘victim of a crime.’

“I don’t believe there is a link between Javie’s murder and Jolissa’s disappearance.” The shooter was apprehended the next day and has been in jail ever since. Of course, Jolissa was depressed. He was her closest companion. But I believe she was doing the best she could. “She wasn’t depressed or anything,” she added.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, the community is invited to attend a raffle, silent auction, and bake sale at Selma Lincoln Park from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or the day of.
