Yeah that was my thought. I'd hate my SM's guts at 16 if I was being woke up every morning that early, especially on Saturdays. Do they have horses or other animals to tend to? I'm not convinced anything bad has happened to Karlie, but I do think the parents could be downplaying some things to detract from known issues or conflict in the home that has caused her to take off. I hope she is warm and safe wherever she is. JMO.

They'll figure it out somehow by putting Karlie's needs first. It's not something that is our concern imho.

Right. I have only heard SM confirm on Nancy Grace that the police spoke to the people who say they saw a girl or woman in grey sweatpants that morning. I have not seen LE confirm that the person was Karlie. I hope they already checked security cameras, etc.

Separately, I find it odd if she's wearing sweatpants. If she was going to run away, wouldn't she wear what she normally wears (and was wearing in every picture released of her) - jeans? SM says she was sleeping in a tshirt and underwear, so it's not like she was wearing sweatpants to sleep and left in them. She'd have to pick sweatpants over her regular pants. SM said she owns many, many pairs of jeans (I forget the number, she may have said 20 pairs).

SM wad still confused by the clothes on NG. When asked whether the sweatpants were still at home, she didn't know. I don't understand at this point how she hasn't combed through to figure out whether the sweatpants are the or not. That would be the obvious thing to do and would quickly confirm those sightings.

The Mono County Facebook page has it on there

"October 13, 2018. There were sightings of her in the area of White Mountain Estates Road and Highway 6 around 7 – 7:30 am. She was wearing a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants. Karlie is a white female, 16 years old, 5’ 07”, 110 pounds, dark blond hair and blue eyes."

Because this is such a small subdivision it is not likely there would be 2 16 year old girls out walking that early. Since none of the 3 know each other they are 3 independent descriptions that all match. So that does give it weight.

The SM has now said this first account was not true. The story has completely changed since that first statement.

Speculation:

Melissa has come clean and said that wasn’t the story. This timeline was given before she publically came out with the marijuana paranoia story. As long as she gave misleading timelines to the public and not police she is not doing anything criminal. I believe the police received the correct timeline and story from the get go, hence the disoriented official statement.

It’s also good to point out that both karlies younger brothers were home and awake when karlie got home. Hard to keep kids quite if there is more to the story, especially if it’s sinister.

Another point that has not been talked about is that Melissa claims karlie was in panties and a shirt when she last saw karlie.

The witnesses claim she was in sweats and a shirt. Also the one piece of clothing that they can prove was missing was her shoes.

To me this proves that she dressed herself and put her shoes on before she left. This proves to me she left willingly.

Unfortunately When she got to the highway for whatever reason she walked to the highway, is where a crime was committed. I believe she was picked up unwillingly on the highway.

Yes either unwillingly or a friend picked her up and shes being hidden. Teens doing crazy things without thinking.

I do think way more happened that night. I think SM is still giving a cleaned up version. I can't shake the feeling there was a big argument that night about her smoking pot again. I don't believe for one second that they slept together that night and everything was roses. Hopefully they gave the real story to the LE.

Except these were 3 witnesses who said they saw somebody that may/may not be KG as they'd never seen her before. Family very new to the neighborhood -- moved there from town 14 miles away (same town where KG attended HS). Witnesses described KG the person as wearing clothing contrary to what SM said she was wearing. And one of the 3 witnesses was an elderly man who said he was siting in his hot tub (but it was still dark out @ 6:30 when he said he saw her).

That's what I was having trouble with. It's still dark out at that time! And he's an older gentleman who may not have the greatest eyesight.

It has changed from what the public has been given, but the original statements from police have always had the disoriented description so I believe the police have had the correct timeline all along

That's what I was having trouble with. It's still dark out at that time! And he's an older gentleman who may not have the greatest eyesight.

It is not dark at 730a when the last sighting on the highway was reported.

It sounds like they’re trying to insinuate that she was on drugs. Maybe she’d been drinking, but people who’ve been drinking all not don’t typically walk out the door in the wee hours of the morning. The whole ‘why’/‘what’ thing is really confusing part. Do they me “what” she was doing leading up to her disappearance? Or “what” happened to her?

Interesting because in other cases I’ve heard LE stress that the “why” IS important, for example the Delphi murders, “Why Abby and Libby?”

I’m going to go to other the angle that LE confirmed these sightings so Karlie left on own accord. Not set in stone, but let’s go with this angle.

So at some point she was picked up by a vehicle because scent dogs could not track her. Who picked her up? Stranger? Is Karlie that type of person to get into a stranger’s car? Or person known to her? Is she being hidden? Unlikely this long but possible. Would this known person have any reason to harm Karlie? Lots of questions. Would be great to get a verified insider to provide some insight.

I believe she was trying to hitch north to bio mom house and was picked up by wrong person.

Exactly. Sweatpants could mean early morning jogger or exerciser.
