Found Deceased CA - Kiely Rodni Missing From Party Near Prosser Family Campground in Truckee #3

Yep the longer this goes on the more I believe she died accidentally doing something illegal like drinking or using drugs, and for whatever reason the people who were there when it happened decided to hide her body and her car instead of calling for help or going to the police.

Most definitely a possibility.

Although what gives me pause is that if she did overdose and they party kids panicked and hid her body and car, then these young people did such a good job, no amount of LE officers, FBI involvement, helicopters, dogs, divers and public searches can find any trace of her or her car anywhere!

Originally, I was leaning towards drunken car accident, down a ravine and covered up with bushes somewhere..... but the phone being shut off is too suspicious (unless being submerged in water.)

So now, I don't know what to think. So many loose ends, uncertainties and no hard facts or concrete evidence or witness to anything really.

Did I hear SS correctly on that interview with All American Dream Chaser? Did she specifically bring up that the 89 doesn't have traffic cams and then a few minutes later says she was headed home on the 89 that night?

We don’t have a clear clue to what happened out there in the dark or how it happened. We don’t have a real context or many facts, do we? Neither does LE, it would seem.
And in commenting in the first few days in a sleep deprived state, not under oath, trying to respond to the demands of a media circus, run a web site, coordinate meetings, as an 18 year old, understandably things get garbled and misconstrued. It is frustrating for everyone, yes, as we would like to help, somehow, without throwing out salacious inuendo, I’m sure.
I can bet we haven’t heard from SS or any other friend for the past few days because they have been warned not to talk to media. That makes sense. I would advise my kids the same.

I think the police don't want to put all their eggs in one basket. Either they really think she was in an accident, possibly in the water, and they're considering abduction as a precaution, or vice versa. And I really wish I knew which is which.

I have been thinking accident. New driver, at night, probably tired, definitely intoxicated, possibly with bad headlights, and possibly distracted by a phone call. That is a total recipe for disaster.

But I also wonder why she hadn't left already, she should have been home by then.

Wondering if Kiely was taken by one of the older sketchy men seen at the party. A tipster Ronnie Jones (RJ) mentioned his two cousins were at the party. They informed him they saw Kiely there having fun talking to different groups of people that night. He asked them if she was really that drunk as reported by SS. They replied she was stumbling, and around the older guys who had drugs (mushrooms and cocaine). He did state they couldn't confirm that Kiely had done any drugs, or had been unknowingly given any drugs, but confirmed those drugs where there. The sketchy guys where the group with the drugs.
Of course not sure if LE has vetted this information however glad the teen RJ came forward which is a good sign, hoping more teens will as well. Knowing this,if true could be a possibility if she was stumbling around it makes sense she wouldn’t have realized her friend SS left and maybe called SS (like SS confirmed she had) at 12:36 and could’ve been overheard by other st the party asking if her friend still needed a ride. Finding out then that she was alone with no one to be looking to find her at the party for a ride home and made the decision to follow her to her car. They could’ve taken her phone and smashed it or turned it off at that time or threw it in the lake and took her and her vehicle. I don’t think she went into a body of water.
Also Sacramento is a huge hub for human trafficking. I pray she is still found safe. Fear she was taken and sold or maybe drugged up and being kept somewhere. These older adults had no business going to a young adult/teen party in the woods. It’s weird, I feel like they could’ve gone with the malicious intent sell drugs to the teens and/or look for a teen who was alone to traffic. Maybe asking the teens to focus more on the older adults will help find out who they are and help find out what happened to Kiely, JMO

My thinking....the police still aren't classifying this as an abduction. And I think there would have been more evidence that she drove out of there by now - even with the ten hour late start on the search (between the time she was last seen and the time she was reported missing). The police might be begging people to come forward with tips but make no doubt they are interviewing people nonetheless.

Then add the terrain; the massive amount of ground, cliffs and waterways they need to cover in the search. It took authorities 3 weeks to find Phillip Kreycik on the Pleasanton Ridge, and eventually they found him a couple hundred yards from the trail.

I actually hope I'm wrong because then there is more of a chance she's still alive if she isn't still near the campground.

I have always appreciated your posts. But, this one has me scratching my head. Witnesses, even law enforcement say there were anywhere from 200 to 300 teenagers and young adults in attendance, including KR.

Just had an awful thought, but unfortunately it’s possible. When she got in her car to drive home, maybe she still had leftover alcohol (didn’t they go to her car to charge phones and get more alcohol earlier?) She doesn’t want to drive around with it, and she’s planning on being back there the next day with friends. So why not stash it in the lake overnight where it’ll be safe and cold? Maybe instead of heading home directly, she drives around the lake to find an out-of-the-way spot, but it’s dark, they’ve just had torrential rain the previous two days, dirt road shoulders may be soft. Maybe she drives too close, or isn’t expecting the water level to be where it is? A vehicle can sink completely in less than a minute, even if starts out very close to shore. They’ll tip and float first, get carried to deeper water, and then sink. Very quickly. Her phone might have gone offline finally at that point. The sediments in that reservoir are probably 10ft-50ft deep, and could swallow a sunken vehicle, making it very hard to spot visually. I think an oil or gas slick shows up at some point if a car is under water, though, and so far no reports of that.

Some kids do mj. They might try other things. They drink. That doesn't mean they are bad kids or have bad parents.

Some kids wears bodysuits, even though they are impractical. I was raised in Northern MN where I should have worn wool lined snow boots to school. Guess what I didn't wear?

No kid is an expert on losing their friend at a party or how to handle that. Admin said no friend bashing. This is a friendly reminder. No friend bashing. Especially those two courageous young women who are trying to help.

Not sure how long being a teenager was for some of you, but for me it wasnt yesterday. I can still remember quite well though my terrible judgement. Also have not forgotten the adults who extended me some grace during those lapses. Few of us learn from feeling shamed or judged.

The water is a bit far away from the party place (moo) if KR was supposed to be at her car leaving and if her car was parked 100 feet away from the party-It almost sounds to me like someone threw her phone in the lake. Maybe THATS what they are searching for. This would make sense if-as we have surmised-something happened to her between 11:30 and 12:33. Someone was leaving with her in the car but threw the cellphone in the lake so it could not be traced. Ugh. Hoping I’m wrong.

I've lost count of the cases I read about intoxicated people, who somehow fell into water and drowned - usually men walking near, or not so near, rivers.

But I still hope she will be found alive.

Respectfully, although there are a myriad of scenarios that may have contributed to or directly caused KR's disappearance, I believe human trafficking is extremely unlikely to be one of them. This seems to eventually find its way into discussion of every missing young woman on this forum, and almost never is. If you make a list of probable candidates for human trafficking, Kiely would probably check zero boxes. A middle-class teen who lives at her middle-class home with parents, and has graduated high school and is college-bound, who has enough community connections that an entire town is going to be looking for her if she disappears, is not going to get snatched out of a crowd, and taken for trafficking, when there are tons of at-risk teens that no one would ever miss. Additionally, typically, victims are groomed over time, and not just snatched off the streets, despite what may be depicted in some Lifetime movie. Does it ever happen? Sure. Is it likely? No. JMO

It is my opinion that Kiely was not trafficked. Accident? Most likely. There are other possibilities, and nothing would surprise me. But I am going with a hard no on human trafficking here.
