ETA: Kiely already knew at 11:30 pm that she was not going to be able to leave the party at midnight in order to meet curfew. She must have been waiting for something or someone that was not going to happen until 12:15 am. Her mother never explains the reason for the delay. Not to us anyway.

Exactly. I wonder if she was going to wait for SS? She was in the car with her at 11:00 and it had been arranged that KR would drive SS home. It sounds like they wandered off in different directions after they got out of the car. Perhaps they had agreed to meet back at Kiely’s car at 12:15. By SS’s admission she said goodbye to KR in person at around 12:25 and told her she had arranged a ride with someone else. SS said she thought KR was too intoxicated to drive.
SS then tells us that KR called her at 12:36 to ask her where she was at. This is in conflict with LE’s report that KR’s phone went dead at 12:33.
Maybe they never met in person at 12:25. Maybe that’s when KR called to see where she was. Maybe she was waiting for SS at the car and she was running late for her 12:15 planned departure. Perhaps SS blew her off and is feeling guilty that she left her on her own and then she disappeared. She also indicated that KR said she may sleep at the campground, but no one else has given any indication that that was what KR intended to do. I don’t think that SS intentionally caused harm to KR. I do think she may be deflecting because she feels guilt.
We should be close to the time that LE has all of KR’s phone records. We’ll know if she did make a 12:36 call to SS and of any other communication she had between about 11:00 and 12:30.
I do think that KR was left alone by her car in the dark. She either made the decision to drive herself home, (perhaps hurrying to make her extended curfew?), or someone saw her very vulnerable and very much alone and took advantage of the situation. MOO

I don’t have the impression anyone is assuming that. Just speculating.

I believe 'OK, mom, I love you, too' is correct. And of course that is how the People magazine reporter typed it, so we don't really know if that's how it was received by her mom or if the reporter was typing it correctly.

Yes, those are train tracks. What you can't see in your screenshot, is that track connects to the one of the left side of your photo.if you were to follow the tracks down to the left, they circle around to the tracks on the top of the photo.

There's a small tunnel made of concrete that goes under the tracks, it's not in your photo. It would be down and to the left. You'd go through the tunnel to get to the lodge.

And thank you again. I wonder why the tracks lead down there and then circle back.

I actually did see that tunnel in a video of someone driving through it last year. Scary and tight and the road looks like it could wash out any second right by the entrance.

That's not necessarily verbatim what the text message said though. That's probably an abridged version that Kiely's mum told them it said. Whoever wrote the article will have inserted the punctuation.

One last question for you - a few of us have brought up the Chrissy Powell case here a few times. If you're not familiar with it, she went missing in the San Antonio area and was found 18 days later a few miles from home, a few miles from her job, in a busy shopping center parking lot between restaurants. Not in the back by rear entrances, but just out there in the center of it all to a degree. Security guards noticed the car early on but didn't investigate til almost 3 weeks later and they feel she was there the entire time. Do you know if people have extensively searched every parking lot in that area as best as possible? Her car could easily blend in with other parked cars and go unnoticed as well, and wouldn't stand out on aerial searches. Even lots of businesses where someone may say, "Oh she'd never be in a bank parking lot at 2am, or the industrial parking lot." Never know if she was feeling ill and pulled over somewhere.

I'm not familar with the case in Texas. Of course this is a possibility though. Truckee is a small mountain town. There's only a certain amount of parking lots where the car could be (if this happened). There's flyers all around town, I would hope that someone would spot the car if it were parked in public, especially if KR were still in it.

It was just a suggestion. I for one think it was definitely a reasonable one and makes some sense. Especially as SS said Kiely had alcohol in her car and that at the time of phone charging there were also other friends in the car with them.

Could be, but if the muddy bank would have stopped her car from going in, why would LE allow AWP to come to the search? Also a local went to the area of the party and said the water was very high right after she went missing. I wish we knew if the cement ramp was covered with water at that time.

Maybe they are having AWP search a different lake? I guess we will know on Saturday when they start the search. I checked the weather and it looks like it will be great.

Wouldn't LE be able to tell who had driven on the ramp recently? Tracks on the approach? Some way to analyze tire prints?

Maybe I am assuming too much, but I would hope everything was locked right down, and if the phone pinged nearby, I would hope they checked that sort of thing?

This will sound odd, but I wonder where the girls were going when they had to pee? Is it possible she needed to pee again, (from all the drinking it sounds like they were doing) and somehow fell into water? Or at least dropped her phone and it fell into water? I would assume her body would have been found by now, but heading off to pee before driving home, or stopping along the way also could have put her in a vulnerable situation.

I asked my sister abt the iPhone finding thing she uses and she says it works when phones are off and/or the battery is dead. Can anyone confirm? Maybe we would need to know exactly which phone Kiely had to know if this is the case? And if the phone was in the lake, I'm pretty sure it would not work, but I'm not 100% sure. Any thoughts?

@OldCop your post makes me wonder how many time stamped photos/video LE has obtained between approx. 11:00pm (trips to KR vehicle) and 12:30am (or after). Possibilities herein repeatedly discussed, many unknowns with lack of KR sighting facts given to public, but that time frame, if pieced together with time stamps is what they have to be seeking. If the mass exodus at 12:30am is fact, are there any background pictures of her car moving/leaving/still parked? Gotta be why they keep pleading for all who attended to come forward with anything, all random phone pics/vids. Sure hope LE gets a break soon for the family with one strong tight-knit community behind them. JMO

I think those are the crucial hours although LE has said that she was seen at the party around midnight as reported by EP. Still, LE wants to know what KR did, who she was with, her physical/mental state in the hour or so leading up to when her phone died at 12:33. It sounds like KR was still in the area when a large number of the younger party goers began leaving at about 12:30.
We have about 2 1/2 hours of heavy partying, fights, suspected drug use, etc, but it all seems to boil down to what happened between about 12:15 pm and 12:33 pm.

This reminds me of Daniella Vian from Mobile. She went out drinking with friends after purchasing a car earlier in the day, lost her phone, and disappeared. Poor girl went the wrong direction and ended up in a lake like 15 miles from the area they expected her to be.

i have peed outside my fair share, and unlike men who seem to keep peeing into water and falling in, anecdotally i wont go near water while outdoor peeing. its awkward squatting and if u are intox its just a likely fall.

When I consider Kiely, her SUV and her phone are all missing, it seems logical they are all together, but I'm trying to think of all angles. If they were peeing near an embankment or beside the water, her phone could have fallen in.

Six law enforcement agencies, including FBI and Truckee Police, are entering their 11th day of search efforts for missing 16-year-old Kiely Rodni.

In a statement Tuesday, the Placer County Sheriff's Office (PSCO) released the statistics of search efforts for the teen who disappeared on August 6.

According to PCSO, 102 detectives and investigators from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies are now looking for Kiely.

The sheriff's office also says these investigators have gotten more than 1,100 tips, however they are still pleading with the public to submit any tips, photos, videos or sightings as the search nears a two week mark.

But SS left before KR so why make a point of it? Are we 100% sure that 200-300 kids even attended the party? Was this confirmed by LE? Also, who made the big deal about Lana del ray sweatshirt? They need to look into that. Was that person trying to insinuate she ran away? If everyone saw her at the party, the white and pink sweatshirt stands out! Why even bring up the LDR sweatshirt??

IMO, LE is trying to jog anyone's memory of seeing her. It's important because if she went on to another party somewhere, the route to search could widen. Maybe the Lana Del Ray sweatshirt was left behind in the car by her friend, M, so there's a chance she may have put it on.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but the road to the lodge is a straight shot once she unlocks the gate (see my other post). It's slight up hill, then pretty straight forward to the lodge. It's wooded, but like most of the Tahoe area, there isn't any underbrush (we don't get much rain), there's just mostly large trees. I've ridden my bike down the road to the lodge since she went missing, her car is not off the road anywhere. It would be very obvious.

I meant the whole trip from the campground- could be difficult at 1am. Very easy for an impaired person to miss a turn and end up further down a road than you might expect or in an area where she shouldn’t be for example.
