Interesting - had no idea! So is the still photo a side by side pic of both views? The interesting thing about BeReal is that it takes a picture using both the front and back camera simultaneously - so you see what the person taking the picture sees, and you see them. There's a timer so you can't really move around, fix your makeup, or pose. You can also only "delete" posts once a day, meaning (I think?) that they are probably visible for a certain period. They are also shareable on Snap, Instagram, and Messages.
Because of the nature of what they capture, BeReal photos from that party could be extremely useful for understanding who was at the party and at what time. Probably, many of the BeReals captured the party crowd.

It's a picture with a smaller picture in the corner. I don't personally use the app, but I'm pretty sure you can change whether you want the front facing camera photo to be the smaller picture in the corner or the larger picture. It would depend on whether you want to emphasize your surroundings or not. Either way, both are visible.Interesting - had no idea! So is the still photo a side by side pic of both views?

On the PCSO daily update on Twitter, under '1 dive team', it says 'Placer Co Sheriff's Dept', so I am thinking it is their boat and diver. I really doubt AWP has gotten there yet. It is just 9:40am there, and earliier this week, they said they expected to arrive there this afternoon. I think when they are there, and searching, we will know. Either they will announce it on their website, or someone will post photos, most likely. JMOOne dive team. I am guessing AWP made it?
Is it like snap where you can choose to save your photo to your phone? If so, I wonder if any kids save them...The interesting thing about BeReal is that it takes a picture using both the front and back camera simultaneously - so you see what the person taking the picture sees, and you see them. This is what happens when I don't wear my glasses. LOL Thank you for clarification. The infographic posted just slightly upthread indicates dive team is Placer County Sheriff’s dive team today.
You can both save the photo and share it on other platforms. I became familiar with BeReal because many of my friends share their posts from the app on their Instagram stories and on Twitter. Is it like snap where you can choose to save your photo to your phone? Sad to say I am wondering if these people at the party were just so drunk/high that they have mumbled memories and can't really remember anything coherently. I imagine that might be true for some anyways. The rest of them, I don't understand why they won't talk. This is so concerning I check regularly for new news and don't see anything...I'm afraid this case is going to go cold way too fast!!!
BeReal is not like Snapchat or other apps. You have no control over when to post a BeReal pic. At random times of day you get a notification from the BeReal app and you have 2 minutes to snap a pic with your phone and post it. Once that 2 minutes is up, that's it. You cannot delay or post it later. The whole point is that there are no filters or time to edit or stage pics - thus "Be Real".SS mentioned an app that was mostly used called "be real" I guess you get a notification and when you open it, you have to take a photo in the moment and post it. But I wonder how this app works. Is it like Snapchat where it goes away after a while? She said most of the kids that received the notification saved opening it until later that night at the party. The only thing I could guess about not using SM too much would be the service issue. I have gone to an event with terrible service and if I try to post on Snap it just keeps re loading and re loading and kills my battery so much faster.
Yes exactly! Either running back and forth to the car for alcohol as SS stated contributed to a car wreck or it attracted unwanted attention from strangers.Exactly! This and one other statement that was made.
I am very intrigued by what was going on here.
Video of the drive/terrain leaving the party location.
I’m so glad AWP is on their way. I had wondered if the below group had been contacted or utilized already, since they have worked and dived in the Tahoe lakes.A little bit of all of those. AWP uses a side-scanning sonar unit, which is dragged behind a boat and generates a 3D image of the lakebed or river bottom. These are very expensive (think $30,000+) so most police departments don't have them. Police divers also cost a ton of money while AWP works for free.

Agreed, but unless she left the party for some unknown location that no one has even hinted at, and she may have, Kiely was, by all accounts, very familiar with the area, including the campground area. She was raised in that area, and spent most of her life there. JMOOccam’s Razor…..driving while under the influence, at night time, in an area she was unfamiliar with….probably drove off the road into vegetation and can’t be seen…ala the couple from Yuba City who were found by accident. Very tragic.
Yeah see at 20:44 she said it can be posted later and people waited.BeReal is not like Snapchat or other apps. You have no control over when to post a BeReal pic. No one has said that a BeReal notification randomly went out during the party. I think one person mentioned they hoped it would.
If you regret the BeReal you posted, you may delete it but it doesn't delete itself like Snapchat does. And if you do delete your latest BeReal you cannot delete the next one. And so on.
