Yes.You are absolutely right, except they don't have to prove intent. One just has to supply the minor with the alcohol, and if that minor then causes great bodily harm, or death, to themselves or someone else, the person supplying the alcohol can be charged with a misdemeanor. It includes a fine and 6 months-1 yr in jail, in CA anyway. I tried to edit my post, too late. I corrected it down the thread.
thanks! yea we had discussed this threads back, it was shocking to some ppl.

I just had a thought... if the diver started at the rear of the vehicle, then moved around to the front driver's window... it seems odd that he didn't mention seeing her in the rear of the vehicle when he confirmed he found her car (due to the license plate). Because she was visible when he went back there to look for her. Just sayin'.

So, not wanting to restart that she was under the cargo cover (because lots have stated this car didn't have one, but even if it did, I seriously doubt she'd be under it and ON TOP OF it instead)... but my thinking is he saw her (cuz you know he had to take a little peekiepoo through the window. I for darn sure would have if I was at that part of the car. My belief is he waited to mention it for dramatic suspense for the video. Then again, he could have seen her, stated he did, and they simply cut that part out to keep it for last. But after watching that part of the vid for the Nth time... it struck me that he hadn't mentioned seeing her where she was found, when he was at that area first.

I've never watched any of their other videos... but for those that have, is this something it appears that they do? Show the video in such a way that a person found in the car is always visible thru the last window they look through? <modsnip>
This is the first active case AWP has participated in. IMO the diver, after confirming the license plate, went to the obvious place you’d think the driver would be which was the drivers seat as he described the windows. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe he noticed shoes in the little cargo area window on the passenger side then had to wipe the cargo window on the drivers side to look in and confirmed there were remains in the vehicle. I’m pretty sure there was significant build up on the windows and it was hard to see. I would think if she was visible anywhere else it would’ve been blurred out there as well.

When he sees the the number plate, the rear window is down and under due to angle but the plate seen without going as deep, I assume the first place / obvious place they look into the car (I am sure they said they follow a set process) next is passenger seat, then work around.

Watching the video two things stand out for me: 1. Since back window was down, water would have rushed in to the car giving someone around 30 seconds to get out. When water rushes in you don’t have air pockets and 2. She was in the back cargo area but there was a seat belt hanging out the latched/shut back hatchback door.

Mainstream is starting to pick up the story about the anonymous yt guy who claims to have found K's laptop and other items. The US Sun published a statement from the NCSO:

A spokesman for Nevada County Sheriff's told The U.S. Sun: "I can confirm our office has contacted the individual claiming to have recovered some of Kiely's property and we have taken possession of those items."

They added: "I cannot, at this point, say whether the property belonged to Kiely or not."

Is that confirmed about the seatbelt hanging down?

This is such a sad case; a terrible tragedy when such a beautiful young life is cut short. It is also a very interesting case in that volunteers have been participating, and seemingly adding tremendous value to the recovery and investigation.
It reminds me of days past when the local sheriff would deputize citizens to assist with apprehending criminals.

Perhaps due to the number of crimes, the lack of LE funding, and the expertise of savvy citizens, we may have a return to the days of citizens being "deputized".
Interesting...

There is an item obviously closed in the hatchback, sticking out. Although it appears to look like a folded seatbelt, it has not been confirmed by LE. IMO

If the windows on the vehicle weren't covered/secured before removing the car from water, it is completely feasible that items inside the car could have floated out.

I think whether she was clothed, or not, will pretty much tell us a great deal about whether this was an accident or not. 30 seconds or 30 minutes to get out might not have made any difference.... : (

I totally agree with you. I typed before reading the article. Is there any way you can delete what I typed from your message since I deleted the original? Thanks in advance.

AWP didn't retrieve the vehicle so they don't have vid of that. They simply found it and flagged it with a bright red buoy. LE did the retrieval and doubt they took vid of it. I can't think of a reason they'd want to video that.
In case stuff fell out....

True, and they were not wrapped or secured.

True, and they were not wrapped or secured.
And that was a significant error, IMO. I know that's standard OP for AWP. Maybe they can help LE by giving them a checklist of sorts. Folks who don't do this type of recovery on a routine basis just don't think of that stuff I guess.

Bam! When you have water rushing in on you then their aren't air pockets.

Really? Can't say whether its her property?? Then ask her Dad or her Mother! That'll clear that up fast.

I told my husband everything from lipstick to a laptop probably fell out when LE flipped it over....

Ugh!

It may be considered MSM but it's pretty iffy IMHO. It's up there (or down there) with the Daily Mail, etc. Other posts about her laptop have been removed from other sources. It makes me wonder if the US Sun posts are next (and should be IMO). Sure, it's fun to read but as far as factual and sleuthing... they muddy the water IMHO.

Overall, we rate The US Sun Right Biased based on story selection and editorial bias that favors the right. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to overly sensationalized headlines, failed fact checks, and the promotion of misinformation.
