Appears there may have been more in attendance at the party vs her celebration of life which I find kinda odd. I didn't watch the whole thing but quickly flipped through it. Sound quality is bad bad in spots so hard to hear what people are saying. Mostly just standing around so not much there.

Of course its all speculation, understandbly. I just don't see a logical explanation for the "guy". Especially since it was the RA company and Nick coming forward and the "guy" didn't. Its our understanding that by this point Kiely had been reported missing. So can there be a logical explanation especially after being reported missing? Am I missing something? I just don't see it. Even if this 'guy" appears legit the question I have is Kiely's image was everywhere was this "guy" under a rock. Yeah, I know Nick the RA clued in after but it appeared to Nick she was acting oddly and it appeared Nick was concerned but he was only the RA so he felt awkward understandably.. So didn't the "guy" clue into this also? She used the "guy's" phone to call RA, she had the presence of mind to do that but she wouldn't phone her family to let them know she was okay and to come and help her?????

I remember that in the All American Dream chaser interview with SS, she really made a point to specify remembering kielys belt, (the black grommet belt from surveillance image) because kiely took it off when they peed in the woods and went to the bathroom etc. It was just odd to me.and SS also mentioned the green dickies from the same image. (And vans too, but looks like white flip flops in surveillance image?) <modsnip - no link>
It got me thinking, with all the confusion about what exactly was she wearing and no one bothering to correct LE and which hoodie she has on, which was strange to me too, WHAT if kiely and SS hung out earlier that day(8/5) and didn't want to go home and change before party and borrowed some clothes from SS???

However, they had one working phone. I have always scratched my head that she would text her mom she was leaving in 45 minutes (very responsible) yet not call her over the next 11 hours from a working phone. I'm not sure we'll ever have answers. I look forward to AWP releasing more footage.

You know, @Sillybilly, I had the same thought after reconsidering SS's description of what KR was wearing the night of the party in the now infamous American Dream Chaser interview. If there was a strap coming out of the back hatch of KR's car, could it have been KR's belt? And not necessarily in the context of a foul play (e.g. tying KR down to the bottom of the hatch). It could also be simply KR threw the belt into the hatch at some point during the night and closed the hatch.

I honestly can’t believe Roadside Nick’s story is credible—and that no one from LE has piped up to confirm that it was (or was not)’ KRs car. That is ALL hearsay, AFAIC, as we have no source for that other than a fan of AWP saying he saw them a whole week after she went missing.

Supposedly the tow company locked down the video and turned it in to LE. If that’s the case, how did Doug get that confirmation that it was her car? He said himself the tow company wouldn’t release it to anyone but LE. He has also edited the AWP video since it was first posted—that seems sketchy to me, removing details here and there. MOO.

Also, in the absence of proof, I think it’s absolutely ludicrous to think someone got KRs car in there after folks knew she was missing with no one seeing. It’s next to a campground full of people, in a place where people were looking for her. MOO, but this didn’t happen.

It’s a crying disservice to their family to let this hearsay get quite so wild with no proof furnished to anyone.

One girl mentioning it as a vivid memory because it had to be removed (why would it have to be??) and one girl who may or may not have been KR inquiring about fastening a seatbelt through a belt (again, why?). I will say when I first started following this case right after it happened, there was a screen grab photo of a girl and I was confused if it was KR or someone else we’ve seen in MSM. I won’t detail my thoughts as not to “disparage” anyone, but with the belt situation I’ve wondered if roadside Nick may have done the same thing…

Also wondering how diver Nick saw the skin of her legs (how he id remains were present) if she was still wearing those fairly form fitting dickies…

LE releases information to the public when it is in the best interest of an ongoing investigation. They may also withhold information when it is in the best interest of their investigation. We are in the middle ground here, not knowing for sure either way but discussing all possibilities, and it wouldn't be a crime sleuthing forum if we didn't consider the possibility that a crime may have occurred.

Unless LE officially announces that this incident was nothing more than misadventure, members can reasonably speculate on foul play based on information that is publicly available via approved sources.

Nick's description is not hearsay. Hearsay is when it is something related by another person. In this instance, the information came directly from him as a possible witness. What he had to say may or may not be relevant or truthful but it is up to each individual how much weight they wish to apply to what he had to say. True sleuthers aren't about to simply write it off as BS and conclude this was nothing more than an accident without discussing every single aspect of what is available to them.

I doubt AWP is in the business of ruining their established reputation by lying to the public. As for their video having been edited, that may not be sketchy at all. It is possible LE has asked them remove some information that they don't wish the public to know or they themselves have decided it could be detrimental to an ongoing investigation.

It is not a disservice to a family who wants the truth about what happened to their loved one as opposed to what is simply more comfortable for them to believe.

For me, I don't take his saying he saw legs as to mean he saw her bare legs. Saying you've seen someone's legs can mean bare, or clothed. Personally I think it was a poor choice of wording which can cause people to assume someone meant what they said literally, when they might not have meant it that way. Now, if he had said he saw her bare legs... now that's a whole 'nother matter. Bare legs means bare legs, PERIOD. You can't say "Well, he might have meant she was wearing pants". There's no ifs ands or buts with a comment like that. But saying he saw her legs? I'm thinking (unless hearing for CERTAIN otherwise) that he saw her legs and that they were inside pants.

Just for the record going forward, Kiely was last seen Saturday, August 6 approx 12:33 am. The auto service guy said it was somewhere around 11:00 am to noon Saturday, Aug. 6 or Sunday, Aug. 7.

That was my thought as well, but when I read this post regarding what Nick said in the duty Ron video it sounds like he stated he saw bare skin (ie “skin of the lower half”). The OP seemed to have the same question I do. Disclaimer: I’m going by the post quoted below and have not had a chance to listen to the interview myself.

In the video where Nick from AWP is interviewed by Duty Ron & Former Chief of Staff NY ME Barbara, he states that he recognized Kiely’s body mainly by the skin of the lower half (I.e her legs)…paraphrased..but you can watch on your own starts around 30 minute mark. Linked below. He doesn’t specify if the shoes are on or off. Also slightly confusing given the last sighting of her she was wearing green dickies pants if I remember correctly? Nick doesn’t state if he saw those pants on her or not.

I can't get my head around it...how could LE have missed it? Maybe it's like looking at clouds...somebody sees a face in it and others don't. You have to point it out. Now we know the car is there, we see the red buoy and voila.

Not that easy in reality. Corrosion and rust occur to circuit boards and all other metal parts.
The water and whatever else are in the water (fish,silt, other living things) can easily do damage to small internal pieces of hard drives and circuit boards.
