Paul Flores’s attorney is requesting to lower bail which is currently set at no bail. His attorney says that Paul is not a flight risk and not a risk to the public

Prosecutor says Paul failed to appear for a felony DUI hearing out of LA county in 2007. He also argues that Paul is currently facing felony charges out of San Pedro for his February arrest for being in possession of a firearm as a felon

DDA in case reveals that Paul Flores has several DUIs, including a felony DUI in LA in 2007. He had one failure to appear a court hearing in 1996, which his attorney says was before Smart's disappearance.

Judge van Rooyen moves to release Ruben Flores saying Ruben could serve out the maximum sentence before trial if he stays in custody. Judge intends to release Ruben (with conditions) and on bail that he can afford. Judge says Ruben is not a flight risk or danger to public

Once Ruben posts bail, he could be electronically monitored with an ankle bracelet and ordered not to leave the county. Attorneys will reconvene next Wednesday to set what Ruben can “afford” as bail

Did I hear correctly? Among those reasons Attorney Mesick gave to support his claim that Ruben Flores is an upstanding citizen deserving of either the specified $250,000 or lower bail is that he was "a reserve officer with the Redondo PD."

Redondo Beach is immediately west of Torrance, which is the community in which the Flores family lived before moving to Arroyo Grande in 1991. It was in the community of Torrance that PF one-foot head stomped a fellow middle-schooler and put him in the hospital for five days.

ETA: For that violent and harmful act, PF received 3 days suspension from school (according to Your Own Backyard podcast).
