Yes he is in for a shock when he crosses over for sure....

Ruben has nothing to lose by doing the right thing and giving up Kristin's remains. Double jeopardy protects him. He'll take it to his grave -- mean and evil dude. MOO

Sad to say, I wonder if, even if he did grow a conscience (yeah right), if the remains would still be wherever they were placed. In other words, I don't know if HE knows where they are after all this time. I'm hoping one of our UIDs, or the luck of a wandering hiker, will turn something up.

My vote is Kristin's remains were probably moved to Susan's property where the backyard is said to be a concrete jungle with concrete plant beds poured on top of concrete slabs and where wire mesh was also used (makes a square grid pattern) before the concrete was poured.

From the podcast, I understand Susan's yard was searched only in the area Susan designated, and never by cadaver dogs. MOO

Sigh. Here we go.
A juror who served on Ruben Flores' jury said there was not enough evidence to convict Paul or Ruben Flores of Kristin Smart's murder.

First, Ruben was not charged with murder. And second, you'd think this juror would first take a look at evidence that was suppressed before opining on PF's case! Also makes me wonder if he was the alternate juror...

Thank God he wasn't on Paul's jury!!!
Any word on Paul's reaction to the verdict???

Search again. Civil war dead and ancient Proto-European burial sites are found by specialized cadaver dogs

LE messed up big time early in the investigation with expired search warrants when LE was alleged to have been concerned over the cost of executing the warrant to dig up the homeowner's property without any results.

I believe the only search of Susan's property occurred during the Civil suit and it was not pursuant to a warrant but by permission from the owner--and ONLY where she allowed/designated her property searched.

At the time, I recall reading that the wire mesh would pose a problem for ground-penetrating radar but there may be newer technology today.

IMO, probable cause for obtaining a search warrant for Susan's property is still a challenge. During the preliminary hearing, I recall the prosecution could only establish that PF legally used Ruben's address for most of the years since Kristin was disappeared by PF, and never Susan's residence. MOO

Ruben Flores speaks out after not guilty verdict

ETA: I think Ruben is in shock that he was acquitted. Probably hoped father and son could be housed together in the big house. JMO

Anyone who still thinks that the F.'s are innocent in this case need to listen to the YOBY podcast in it's entirety. And, if someone still thinks they're innocent after listening to the entire podcast & hearing all of the information/research re: this case - then they have serious cognitive issues. It's extremely evident what happened here. The reason the case didn't go to trial until years after the crime was because no body has been found - which makes it more difficult to prosecute. However, even a 5-year old could put the pieces of this puzzle together without too much difficulty.

And - I am convinced that if the case were pursued aggressively, competently, and thoroughly by both the college & LE in the early days then it would have been solved at that time. By that I mean the following would have needed to happen:

1) KS's disappearance being taken seriously from the first day she was reported missing by her college friend(s);
2) The college & LE working together from the beginning;
3) Going along with the above, the college needed to have been more concerned with finding out what happened to this obviously missing student - instead of their own damn reputation;
4) Appropriate warrants being obtained (as quickly as possible) for the F.'s homes/backyards/vehicles so that a competent & thorough search/investigation could be done....including of course the authorization to dig up and/or break up/apart any areas that could have concealed a body - with no limits on where the search could take place, etc.

I don’t think he will ever give up the location because he’s just that evil, but also because that would blow any chance that Paul may have at an appeal.

I just don’t know how any of them have ever been able to sleep at night.

They have zero conscious and no moral compass. That's how they're able to sleep at night.

Agreed. Dead behind the eyes. Just occasionally you find yourself in the same room with someone that makes your blood run cold.
