Police are asking residents of Lafayette's Burton Valley neighborhood to search around their homes this evening for a neighborhood resident who went missing this morning, police said.

Officers were sent this evening to the 3000 block of North Lucille Lane to begin a search for 64-year-old Kristine Kent who was last seen before 7:30 a.m.

Kent left her purse and phone at home and is at risk because of a mental health issue.

She was found in the neighborhood last year when she left home, police said.

Kent is 5 feet 7 inches tall and heavy set.

She was last seen before 7:30 Saturday morning.

She is at risk because of a mental health issue, police said, and is believed to be in the neighborhood of her home.

Located Safe

The search for a missing 64-year-old woman who went missing Saturday had a happy ending for the her family.

A search-and-rescue team from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office search found Kristine Kent at an undisclosed time and location Saturday night. They sent out a release at 11:39 p.m. that Kent was safe.
