I dislike that wording 'body and human remains'
Sounds like they dragged up a carf found a body tht had been driving and had human remains in the trunk or something and the photos didn't help dispell that. More reading realised they found remains on the shore and located the rest of a body in the vehicle or are these separate remains?

Mr Bit and me think that it's a 2002 plus/minus Nissan, Altima

Used 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5 S for Sale (with Photos) - CarGurus

Strip over doors, door handles (with plastic covers), front roster, shape back lights etc.

Third generation 2002 - 2006 L31. In 2007 it became L32A...a totally different look.

Sheryl Davenport went missing in 2017 there is a Nissan Sentra (rental) listed with her case on NAMUS, last seen in Hercules.

ETA: Based on the circumstances, I will be surprised if it's her.
The grill of the car is wrong for a 2017 Nissan Sentra. Based on pictures - including the grill shape, the lack of the square behind the logo, the lower vent, the lower light sockets, the shape of the headlights, and the slant of the hood, I think this is a 2005 Nissan Altima. Could also be a 2006, but the hood changes a little in that model. The 2004 and older models have a different grill.

I was already searching for missing persons....never mind....I think it's safe to say it is a Nissan Altima 2002 - 2006.

A question: what do you guys think of the suggestion of a 2017 missing person....The car doesn't look like a vehicle been in the water for 3 years.....I don't know....Anybody?

Btw I agree with you that this couldn't be MS S. Davenport based on the car discovered.

And LE definitely has a license plate, so we have answers soon.

I'm not sure if the human remains found on the shore are related....a terrible accident....something went very wrong? Just a possibility..or coincidence...

Yes, I assume this one is just a wait and see more than needing ID sleuthing. Hopefully it is evident that whether there are one or two sets of related or unrelated remains, the car and associated victim(s) will be easily found to be due to a tragic accident, and not anything nefarious. Hopefully this just turns into peace and closure for a family or two

Just watched video where they said car tied to missing person for 3 years. They said bone found at lake led them to investigate which led them to car with more remains. So I think 1 person missing 3 years.

Nothing in Namus with those car dates, but maybe the missing person was never reported missing or wasn't known to be in a vehicle.

I just found an article that says "The department said the car is connected to a person missing out of Los Angeles County. No details about the case have been provided at this time."
Not that it narrows the possibilities too much with how populous LA County is, but at least we know where the person/car was reported missing from.

In that article it also said that a leg had been found in the same lake in 2018. You would think that they would have investigated it then. Moo.

Nah, they just threw it in the leg pile and waited for a matching pair.

Y'all that is horrible. Just tossed it in the pile, a missing human part.....surely they thought to test a human appendage? I mean, somebody is either dead or seriously injured without their leg? Did they really find a leg there in 2018? What kind of show are they running that allows the car with the remaining body parts to sit undiscovered until 2020, when they found a leg already in 2018?
Excuse the candor, but this blows my mind.

Sometimes one just has to find the ridiculousness in a situation before one starts screaming "W*T*F?!!." over and over at the top of one's voice. This one's opinion only.
