I dislike that wording 'body and human remains'
Sounds like they dragged up a carf found a body tht had been driving and had human remains in the trunk or something and the photos didn't help dispell that. More reading realised they found remains on the shore and located the rest of a body in the vehicle or are these separate remains?
The grill of the car is wrong for a 2017 Nissan Sentra. Based on pictures - including the grill shape, the lack of the square behind the logo, the lower vent, the lower light sockets, the shape of the headlights, and the slant of the hood, I think this is a 2005 Nissan Altima. Could also be a 2006, but the hood changes a little in that model. The 2004 and older models have a different grill.Sheryl Davenport went missing in 2017 there is a Nissan Sentra (rental) listed with her case on NAMUS, last seen in Hercules.
ETA: Based on the circumstances, I will be surprised if it's her.

Yes, I assume this one is just a wait and see more than needing ID sleuthing. Hopefully it is evident that whether there are one or two sets of related or unrelated remains, the car and associated victim(s) will be easily found to be due to a tragic accident, and not anything nefarious. Hopefully this just turns into peace and closure for a family or twoI'm not sure if the human remains found on the shore are related....a terrible accident....something went very wrong? Just a possibility..or coincidence...
I just found an article that says "The department said the car is connected to a person missing out of Los Angeles County. No details about the case have been provided at this time."Just watched video where they said car tied to missing person for 3 years. They said bone found at lake led them to investigate which led them to car with more remains. So I think 1 person missing 3 years.
In that article it also said that a leg had been found in the same lake in 2018. You would think that they would have investigated it then. Not that it narrows the possibilities too much with how populous LA County is, but at least we know where the person/car was reported missing from.
