I wouldn't trust much of what the media says at this point, unless it's from named sources. We know how that goes, they'll get a snippet from any person around that will talk and make it a story. Does anyone have a link to the live presser yet?

I agree.... I am deferring any rush to judgment on anything until there's been a lot more about this. At this early stage there is a lot of things being said, some of which might turn out to be either completely untrue, or just partially true. Just remember all the misinformation in the early hours of Newtown. I'm going to wait and see.

I also totally understand the family's defense of the child and I don't fault them for it. No one ever wants to believe that their child, their brother, their parent could be a killer.

I personally always doubted the intruder story because it never made sense, but I'm really curious about the neighbor who said s/he saw someone running from the house. Was s/he just caught up in the hysteria of the situation and needed to believe in a mysterious intruder? Or just wanting to get his/her 15 minutes of fame?

I cannot fathom the pain those parents are feeling now.

i am so confused. can someone please clarify for me who is the biological mother of whom? am i right that Crystal is the one that's pregnant and all Fowler children in her pictures are hers...is Crystal remarried? and how on earth would Priscilla have the audacity to create strife during this time? i recognize that step parents are still parents but if i were Leila's biological mother and father i would be telling the third parent to cram it, regardless if they were my spouse. while i'm sure she loved the little girl, the woman that carried her has to be feeling the magnitude of this tragedy like no other could. and even if the step mom was "forced out" of the funeral, i think it's safe to say that throwing a public tantrum is inappropriate.

BF and CW are not married. I do not believe she is pregnant. They have one biological child.

There are 3 other children in the Fowler household. I'm not sure who biologically they belong to.

It's a giant blended family with atleast 3 combination of parents AFAIK

As well he should. As should everyone. No one should assume guilt before any evidence has been presented.

This is a photo from Leila's vigil. I think the suspect is the one furthest to the left. The larger son(?) next to him is wearing a beige ball cap and I notice a tattoo on his arm reading, "Leila." It's a large tattoo - no idea if it is temp or permanent.

The latest article I read said he had the name "written" across his arm.

I haven't heard if the neighbor is an adult or not, if it is, they should have been charged with making a false statement.

thank you for clarifying! i feel a lot better now. what a complex family dynamic. it sounds like there may have been resentment between the adults prior to this incident. sorry if my comments were inflammatory to anyone...this case still seems very layered and sometimes confusing.

I completely understand Barney thinking IF is innocent...but it doesn't make sense to me that they seem to be coordinating the PC with LE? You would think it would be completely separate?

Priscilla is the bio mom and Crystal is the stepmom.

FWIW-Priscilla is the mother and Crystal is the father's girlfriend, who, along with the father, Barney, has been raising Leila as if she were her own. I mean no disrespect to Crystal, but technically, she is not married to the father, so she really isn't a step-mother and not legally a "parent" although she has "parented" Leila.

It is too bad that they have not yet made their parental status legal in any way that we know of, unless she has been declared a legal guardian of the children. These situations always worry me for people who take on all of the responsibility of a parent, yet have no legal rights. I am not sure how that would be done, but in a situation like this, what would happen to the children if something were to happen to Barney?

They haven't been told what evidence led to the arrest yet? I guess once there's a lawyer they'll have more info. I thought there was physical evidence, I sure hope so. Neighbors were saying since the arrest all the LE presence was gone and everything could get back to normal.

That question was raised at the PC and the sheriff basically said they had more pressing things to deal with than that at this time.

She's referred to as a "woman", implying she's at least 18. The Sheriff says he has other priorities right now.

Not sure if this will be an actual combined PC. I think it is likely they are using it because the media is used to that location and may already be somewhat set up for a PC there any way. I would imagine it is public property, so I am not sure how LE could not allow them to use it.
