At first I thought he might be fleeing ramifications of the accident (i.e. prior arrest or he had been drinking when the accident occurred ) but HE was the one that reported the accident to the Highway Patrol. It appears he did so, went home, then took a cab and some hiking/bakpacking equpment, making statements to the effect he had a planned hike (there was a record of a cab ride, confirmed by the driver, from the Weslls Fargo on Cypress Ave. to Mt. Shast'a Avalanche Gulch trailhead.)

Siskiyou County Sheriffs are now assisting.

My thoughts exactly? Did he actually make contact with LE at the scene? Mental health situation perhaps?

ETA - he left the accident scene before officer arrived. So what happened to his car? Towed? Something is def wrong with him.

Was he driving a vehicle that was involved? A passenger in a vehicle that was involved? Did he sustain a head injury and become lost or incapacitated while on the hike? Why not postpone the hike after the incident? I have so many questions!

Gosh this is a mystery. None of it makes any sense at all. That he was in a rollover is a new detail. But he looks fine in the photo at the scene?

How scary - a rollover crash sounds serious. I wonder if he has a serious head injury. I am reminded of the case of Peter Porco where he was struck in the face with an axe and sustained severe brain injuries, but somehow still got up and completed his morning routine on autopilot, making coffee etc before he died. MOO.
