He WAS and IS a con man. Those sort don't have anything to offer, they just take.

I used to work for Sandy Boss at McKinsey. She is the real deal. For one thing McKinsey tend to hire from Yale, Harvard etc. so there are often a cohort of people who were at the institution in question at the same time which is a supplement to the checks done by HR, an interloper would be found out. I think it's downright cruel to trash the woman at this time. She is a good person - I remember her rescuing a Gordon shepherd dog from an animal shelter that had two smashed up back legs and spending a fortune to get the dog fixed up. She is very down to earth, not at all snobby and is a very, very intelligent woman.

It's interesting that as early as his high school years this man was changing his name re Streiter/Reiter. Aren't high school exchanged students sponsored by schools? Someone had to register him in the high school. I lived in CT till the mid-80's and recall clearly having to bring, or have transferred, information from a previous school to the new school when enrolling my children.

I've only caught a little of the reports about this man and his kidnapping and arrest and now the possible link to this California case. I remember from way back when they discovered the remains, it was a mystery. It sort of dropped from public view.

I grew up just a few miles from San Marino, where this couple disappeared from. Ultra, ultra rich area, like a diamond in the rough. Many people have absolutely no idea the money these residents have. They were like an island all to themselves and very unobtrusive.

Gosh, when and IF I have more time, I'll have to read up on this. My bet this Rockefeller guy is the one. LAPD is in the east talking to him now, per our local news last night.

I am puzzled though as to when Chichester left the Sohus guesthouse in relation to the Sohus's disappearance. They disappeared in Feb 85 yet he lived in the guesthouse till Apr 88? I wonder what type of search was carried out for Linda and John? Was the guesthouse searched? If the love triangle existed why would Chichester stay in the guesthouse for over 3 years? When they found the bags of bones did they dig further about the property? Somewhere it says the original house was torn down and rebuilt, so no bones found at that site. But what about the guesthouse? Does it still stand?

Immigration officials join search for Rockefeller's identity

As the mystery surrounding Rockefeller's identity grows, more details have emerged about his time in New England. Multiple people told the Globe that he took an eight-week, 16-hour improvisational comedy class with them at ImprovBoston in Cambridge last fall, about the time he was going through his divorce from Sandra Boss, the mother of his 7-year-old daughter.

Many of the class members said Rockefeller was unusual. During the introduction, he explained that he did not have a job because he was involved in "very unfortunate litigation," according to one woman from the class, who wished to remain anonymous out of concern for her safety.

Outside of class, Rockefeller seemed eager to have people over to his Boston home for drinks -- touting a well-stocked liquor cabinet and open rooftop -- or to a yacht he claimed to have, though no one accepted his offer. He seemed proud of his daughter and emailed a photograph of her to the class.

But in class, Rockefeller struck some as perpetually frustrated, and he had to be warned once about inappropriate contact with women after trying to kiss a classmate during an improvised scene. Female classmates also complained to the instructor that Rockefeller tried to act out other physical contact in scenes that made them uncomfortable, the woman and another man from the class said.

• 1978: Christian Gerhartstreiter Graduates from a German Business School
• 1979-81: in Berlin, CT as Christian Gerhart Reiter a Bavarian German exchange student. (This is the most recent name from the family/transcript but earlier there were other versions). Records show a Social Security number associated with the name Christian Gerhart Streiter — not Reiter — was issued in Connecticut about the same time.
• 1979: Graduates high school in Berlin CT
• 1981: Moves to Wisconsin, marries a US Citizen Amy Jersild, 22 and obtains green card
• Early 1980s: San Marino, CA. "Christopher Chichester" (Chichester was name of Berlin, CT teacher he admired) rented apartment from John and Linda Sohus who were married around 1983
• 1982-83: San Marino, CA. "Christopher Chichester" appears on public television show in San Marino
• Feb 1985: John and Linda Shous disappear.
• April 1985: Missing persons report filed by Linda’s sister. Chichester disappears shortly after.
• 1985-87: ??? He mentioned time in Minnesota when he called people he stayed with as foreign exchange student

• 1994: Bones found in John Sohus yard. ‘Chichester’ wanted for questioning but cannot be found.
• 1993-2008: In Boston MA, Cornish NH, Nantucket MA. "Clark Rockefeller" "Clark Mill Rockefeller" "Clark M. Rockefeller III" "James Frederick" "Chip MacLaughlin" "Michael Brown." All mentioned as aliases.
• 1995: Clark Rockefeller Marries Sandra Boss – no marriage certificate filed
