Gerhatsreiter resurfaced in California around 1985 - this time as Christopher Chichester, a name he seemed to have borrowed from a high school science teacher. Friends and neighbors in California remember a man who tried to cozy up to the high-society crowd in San Marino but never quite fit in.

"I have a feeling he was looking for somebody to victimize so he could just take the money and run," said Carole Iliff, 69, who said Chichester tried to con her late husband out of $1,200.

In the late 1980s, at some point, he adopted yet another identity - Christopher Crow - and worked for banks, including Credit Suisse, according to a co-worker who worked with him who wanted to remain anonymous. "This guy clearly is a wacko," the former co-worker told The News.

From the link I just posted... (No idea if this is true or not!)

It appears that Clark is receiving 100's of love letters from rich young girls every day offering him money and "love". Many have actually showed up at the jail and want to bring him gifts.

Rockefeller's" less than illustrious career on Wall Street...

... But after two days at Lehman, Rockefeller told his supervisors that he needed to take time off to search for his parents, who he said had gone missing in Afghanistan. Sources said Rockefeller – who told co-workers at Nikko he was film director Christoher Crowe – was dismissed by Lehman.

Hi Knoxx! The more we learn about this guy, the more I'm convinced he's more twisted and crooked than a corkscrew!

  • #387
I guess he's been trying to impersonate Michael Clark Rockefeller (who went missing many years ago) since he was using a version of his name.

"Clark Rockefeller, who apparently had taken improv classes there and was described as “unusual” (at least according to the Globe article). “We don’t really have anything to say,” said ImprovBoston managing director Elyse Schuerman. Schuerman refused to release any information about Rockefeller’s involvement with ImprovBoston. Rockefeller also reportedly stowed his belongings in a Cambridge U-haul facility."

Maybe he's doing research for his next impersonation and location .....for "when he gets out."

He can claim amnesia all he wants, he'll still be facing charges and possible conviction in the kidnapping. If he's eventually charged with other crimes, he's looking at a long time in jail and since he obviously obtained his green card by a fraudulent marriage he'll likely be booted out of the country. Since he didn't want to be in Germany, he'll be looking for another place to go to.

Clark Rockefeller seemed a “competent student” who had some level of sailing experience, according to an instructor at the Boston Sailing Club - allegedly the last stop Rockefeller made before shuttling his kidnapped daughter out of town in a livery car.

A head instructor at the Boston Sailing Center said Rockefeller would bring his daughter, Reigh Boss, to the center at Lewis Wharf, which charges $800 for 10 hours in a classroom and 16 hours on the water.

Knoxx, I bet you are right!! The IRS will indeed be looking at where/how he got his money and whether it was reported.

I have no idea how that works with his wife when she gave him the money at the time of their divorce....

Mr. “Rockefeller” — rather than giving up his fake status and position by disclosing his true identity — chose to maintain his fake identity and give up custody of his biological daughter. Thank G*D. But — probably upon reflection that a million just doesn’t go that far any more — Mr. “Rockefeller” may have figured he needed the daughter for cash flow.
When under 18, she’d be good for some child support checks. When over 18, she’d pity him, and hand over her trust fund money. (Potentially he’d request ransom, but that would certainly defeat his purpose of being a society bon vivant, wouldn’t it?) He’d handle the wife - his smear campaign already in place — by saying she was an unnurturing workaholic, and he, the father of the year. He would hold the child hostage, acting like he was father of the year, smearing the ex for being a workaholic (or unstable, perhaps he hadn’t decided yet). And then, what he’s best at — the charm offensive. With all that money, he could treat the Baltimore crowd to some good times.

I totally agree with the “Lovefraud” blog post about the astonishingly sympathetic reaction to Mr. “Rockefeller” (here) — and pointing out that this brings into high relief the need to educate people about sociopaths.Mr. “Rockefeller” is being investigated in connection with some dead bodies found in California. The link is to the Boston Herald comments section where there are many impugning Ms. Boss’ credibility — that puzzles me. What could she possibly get out of this? She seems like the rest of us — good people for whom a “Clark Rockefeller” is not even within the realm of reality. I’m sure she’s got her faults, or, who knows, maybe she’s perfect. But I don’t get why the comments seem to get the focus off of Mr. “Rockefeller” and onto who I perceive as being the huge victim here - Ms. Boss.
