It is very evident in this article that the tug-of-war over power has hurt the possibility of finding additional information and possibly additional burial sites. Arrrgggghhhh.

Shermantine reveals a third well containing remains

LINDEN, CA - Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla says he's been told by Wesley Shermantine of a third well with human remains.

According to Padilla, so-called "Speed Freak Killer" said the third well is near a TV tower approximately 500 yards into a field near the intersection of Waverly Road and Copperopolis Road.

I see a well in the overhead view, about 1000 feet (0.2 miles) west of Waverly Road, and about 500 feet (0.1 miles) south of Copperopolis Road (almost directly south of where the words "STOP AHEAD" are painted in the eastbound lane on Copperopolis Rd.). The well looks like a tiny dot rimmed by what appear to be stones.

I thinks since they were found on his family property he knows who they are. The question really is are the new victims or from the two that were recovered a few weeks ago? That sorry to be gruesome here that animals had scattered the bones. Only the DOJ will be able to tell us . since I do know only partail remains were recovered before.

True, but I had the impression that they were at a "new" dig site on the property. It is certainly possible that I mistook that information, but I thought that there were several areas that he pointed to at this site. I am curious if the suspect that these remains belong to a certain person. I hadn't even considered the thought that they may just be the "rest" of the two victims already recovered.

What a sad, sick, twisted story. I am still in shock that these two misfits got away with this for SO long!

I have always been interested in the cases of Michaela Garecht, and when I heard Loren Herzog confess to her slaying and abduction, I have been following the news about it since. It's reported there's over a dozen remains in the second well they are starting to search, and possibly more burial sites.
I have been researching and have came up with a list of possible victims based on age (young women, and if Michaela is one of their victims, young girls too-I have yet to sift through missing males), hours form San Joaquin (Chevelle and Cindy, who have been identified as his victims from the first well, were taken 3 hours away from San Joaquin), and if they were taken from a town by or off of these dirt bags play ground aka I5.
I will give you the top possible victims:

*Dena Vida Mottan : Chevelle Wheeler, victim of Speed Freak Killers, was taken from Stockton, CA in 1985. Dena also vanished from the same town Chevy did, in the 1980s, the decade these guys were known to have went about their spree.

*Kimberly Ann Billy: She also vanished from Stockton where Chevy did, also in the '80s.

*Gayle Marie Marks. She vanished outside her local DMV office, from Stockton, in the 80s.

*Ruth Leaman- From Modesto, CA, vanished in the 80s. Knew Herzog.

They certainly seem to match the age range and "type" these guys were drawn to, and are so similar to Cindy and Chevelle.
...Coincidence? Or not?

Next Possible Victims are young women who went missing in a town off of I5 or whose vehicles broke down or were found near I5, not more than 3 hours from Shermantine and Herzog's homes. All missing in the 80s.

Again, this is a list of possible victims. Who knows how many more burial sites they had, how many more victims were theirs. They had a full out spree for decades. There is little to no information for a great majority of the names I just listed off. You can look their profiles up at www.charleyproject.org , but circumstance information for most is very brief. On top of that, some of their victims may never have been reported missing. I read that Shermantine believes a skull they found is Joanne Hobbs, but there is no MP for her. I really do hope answers are found for these families. They've suffered enough.

Herzog never confessed to killing Michaela . The only thing said was from Shermantine saying tat Herzog looked liked the sketch of her kidnapper.

Since those articles were written, Shermantine has adamantly insisted that he was misquoted.

Shermantine only commented that the police drawing of Michaela's abductor looks like Herzog, and that Herzog's family lived in that general area. He never claimed any specific knowledge of a connection of Michaela's abduction to Herzog.

One other question - is there a possibility (even slight) that someone in Herzog's family may be raising Michaela? I know that this is not his usual MO, but it is better to me than the other possibility. Could someone in Herzog's family have lost a child (even to abuse), and he simply took it upon himself to "replace" that child with Michaela?? I know that this is far out there, but...

Linden is a VERY small town. There were less than 100 people in Shermantine and Herzogs' graduating class at Linden High. Everyone knows everyone. A "replacement child" would not have been unnoticed.
