*Trial continues (Day 8) (@ 8:30am PT) – CA – Lisa Marie Naegle (36) (Dec. 18, 2016) – Jackie Jerome Rogers (34) charged (12/20/16) with murder. Plead not guilty. Bail $2,020,000.
Confessed to murder & lead LE to where body buried.
Trial was supposed to start 7/3/18, then moved to 9/4. Trial started 9/10.
7/26/18 Update: Jury selection starts 9/4/18, Trial starts 9/6.
9/5/18 Update: Jury selection is still on going; trial "might" start on Friday, 9/7, but probably on Monday, 9/10. Will start Monday, 9/10.
9/10/18 Update: Day 1: Opening statements: DA says premeditated murder. Defense contends he “snapped” & killed her in a heat of passion. Trial continues to 9/11 thru 9/14 State presenting its case.
9/14/18 Update: Day 5: No update as of yet – trial continues to 9/17.
9/17/18 Update: Day 6: No update as of yet – trial continues to 9/18.
9/18/18 Update: Day 7: No update as of yet – trial continues to 9/19.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I have been out of town and didn't have any new information to report. I found out today was the closing arguments and that the jury got the case at 3:45pm today. Not sure how long it will take to deliberate or what the outcome will be? I will post an update with any new information I receive. Thanks

Confessed to murder & lead LE to where body buried. Trial was supposed to start 7/3/18, then moved to 9/10/18.
9/24/18 Update Day 11: After 3 days of deliberations, a Torrance Superior Court jury found Jackie Jerome Rogers, 35, guilty of first-degree murder. Jurors also found true the allegation that Rogers used a hammer in the killing. Sentencing scheduled for 10/25. Could face up to a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in prison.

Sentencing continued to 12/13 due to defendant hiring new council. Most likely sentencing will happen in February of 2019.
