By the looks of it, his car crashed into a ravine. I dont have a subscription to Newspapers.com so maybe someone could clip for me?
I'm just not sure if this is exactly right as Los Padres National Forest isn't L.A. County.

Thanks for this. Do you think this article refers to him? I'm not sure if the location would be considered L.A. County. Plus I don't know if there's any further articles about the crash victim being identified.

It didn't seem to be that it did refer to the John Doe in the thread. It seemed to me they had a good idea on identification. I will see if I can find anything else in an effort to close this loop which may not be related at all to the John Doe in question.

I'm not finding identification article. Santa Barbara is in Santa Barbara County and has coroner held positions since 1947 according to google. I think the accident victim was probably identified and either an article was published that I am not finding, or perhaps an article was not published. I don't know, but it doesn't seem to me this is related to the John Doe in the thread.
