? Did she tell the boyfriend where she was walking?

From the op-
They said she called him as she was walking in the area of Olive and First.

I first recall it was reported sounding like she was walking on gravel. Can you hear that?

I think they pinged her phone to get the location of Olive and First as where she was walking. And yes, the boyfriend said it sounded like she was walking on gravel. Maybe it was echoing off the water? IDK.

I wonder why LE has not released surveillance photos of the men using her cc to try to ID them? Hope they do that soon.

I can't find anything new on the Canal Search today.

On Thursday, investigators focused on the Dry Creek Canal, covering a six mile area through Downtown Fresno.

Police said on Thursday that they did not find anything in the canal linking them to Xiong.

Lieutenant Mark Hudson said searching the canal is just one of many locations they are looking.

Hudson said they are also questioning the men accused of using Xiong's credit cards after her disappearance. They said her card was used in the Tower District and in Madera.

Gardener, according to the link and quote Lisa posted (see above, bbm) LE has already questioned them if I understand correctly.

Wow, thanks! I missed that they found them. Well that's some good news. I hope LE can get the truth out of them.

The area of the canal they are searching is 6 miles long. Are there any stops or gates or barriers that would prevent her from going farther than 6 miles? Where does that canal feed to? I'm having sad but gruesome thoughts.

[h=1]Search continues for missing Fresno woman Lucy Xiong[/h]
Lucy went missing last Saturday in the early morning hours and nearly one week later police are still scouring the area where loved ones believe she may have been before vanishing.

A canal is one of those spots, but Lt. Mark Hudson said a search Thursday proved she is likely not here.

"No evidence shows us that she was in the canal."

Now police are back to knocking on doors and combing through leads, calling this case suspicious. They are also monitoring Lucy's credit cards, which were used in both the Tower District and Madera after she disappeared.

"The detectives followed up on those leads as well and we're continuing this investigation. If they are used in other locations the detectives will follow-up on those as well," said Hudson.

Hudson said footage from surveillance cameras in the area do not show Lucy, which is why they are counting on the public to come forward with any information leading them to her.

[h=1]Lucy Xiong's boyfriend talks about the concerning final phone call[/h]
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --

Time stands still at the apartment complex where Lucy Xiong disappeared. Her parents reliving the same fear every morning while her boyfriend, Xou Hang, gets accustomed to a new daily routine.

"I just come here, talk to her parents and then go out, drive around and see if I see her or anything suspicious."

Xou was at home last Friday when Lucy called- a phone conversation he's analyzed in depth. He said Lucy was clearly upset but would not tell him why.

"I knew something was going on, I tried to ask her, but couldn't get anything out of it."

Xou said he stayed on the line, even though she wasn't talkative, then, a few minutes later came the scream.

"It was definitely a surprised and scary scream-- kind of like someone was approaching her and really quick."

That clue led officers to believe her disappearance may involve foul play.

Eventually, something large traveling through the canal underwater would encounter a barrier, right?

I believe they mentioned that there are catches at various places in the canals where larger objects are caught and they checked all of those first before they lowered the levels.

I just came to post this, Gardener. How sad :(

  • #77
I hope it is OK to say but may make a difference in how some view things - Xou appears to be back in MN where it seems Lucy is originally from. If so, it would explain his inability to report anything very quickly or at all and how he was probably not anywhere nearby.

Her poor mother :(

Not at all the outcome I was hoping for. How horrible that the last thing the mother will remember of her daughter is them in an argument.
