GUILTY CA - Madyson Middleton, 8, Santa Cruz, 26 July 2015 - #3 *Arrest*

  • #401
So wait a minute. This update sounds like she asphyxiated IN the recycling bin. Was she still alive when he put her there, THEN stabbed in the neck? Wouldn't that be caught on camera? I can't even begin to imagine what this poor child went through. Does this mean she might have lived if found sooner? I'm not criticizing the searchers because they were initially looking for a live child. But it just chills me to think that she might have been alive (although probably unconscious) in the bin. Poor baby. :(

I gathered from it that he stabbed her prior, but that she hadn't died from the blood loss, it was that she couldn't breathe from the way he threw/positioned her in the dumpster/recycling bin.

I don't know how her parents would begin to deal with this news, if they realized she was still alive in that bin, while they were outside searching for her, just feet away. So heartbreakingly tragic. :rose:

I feel like the universe just said "I know what, let's make this even worse."

Cases like these bother me so much I rarely will read/post as they haunt me. Like this one. That kid who did this, looks very creepy to me and full of rage. He needs to go away forever. IMO

His eyes and expressions remind me of Arias; Like there is a void there.

That is so sad! adrian knew she was dying inside the bin, while everyone was looking for her, and he just sat there doing nothing but hoping he could get away with it. he's worse than piece of *****, even a ***** would be offended being compared to adrian.

Thanks so much. This is a lovely, nuanced article about the layers of emotions at play. I'm afraid the autopsy report will shatter them anew. :(

Interesting:

Even more fraught is the effort by many residents to cope with the arrest of Gonzalez — to reconcile the memories they have of the boy who used to babysit for neighbors, grab their mail and do tricks with his yo-yo, with the terrible things he is accused of doing to Madyson.

Gonzalez’s confused friends don’t “have any space where they can miss him, where they can express love,” Schlafke said. “My daughter doesn’t have anywhere to process what she went through.”

Mind blowing. All of it.

Having classes on sexuality is a good thing, but this nightmare is depravity. Not some unmet sexual needs.

It is traumatic to find out that someone is not who you thought they were. That person never existed. These psychopaths are good at hiding and fooling.

This boy had all kinds of opportunities and love and trust given to him.

All those things we want teens to have. Mentors, responsibilities, opportunities. He is sick to the core of his being

15, and so rotten. How can a kid be so darn bad? Threw her in the bin alive, and violated her so badly. I shudder to think what "foreign object" he used.

I am hoping she wasn't conscious and just couldn't protect her airway and that is why they worded it like this. This is just so sad...

No mother wants to lose her child and no mother ever wants her child to grow up and become a murderous monster. I can't imagine the pain each of these women is experiencing.

And now the 2 Petit family murderers' get off of death row and have their sentences commuted to LWOP. (CT Supreme Court ruling on the death penalty, which affects these 2 among others).

That part of this whole thing is very sad. Here he lived in a loving, nurturing, creative community full of people who accepted and appreciated his quirkiness. He had everything that a child psychologist would 'prescribe' in order to make an 'awkward' adolescent feel nurtured and cared for. This Artistic Community prides itself in loving and embracing and welcoming everyone.

And even with years of being 'cared for' by the community---he could not overcome his inner depravity and twisted urges.

Exactly. And I didn't even think that was possible.

I am truly sickened with these new details. I dread to think of what may come out in court.

So he did something to his dog a few years ago? This wasn't a red flag for ANYONE?!

I suggest AG is a sadistic psychopath. After learning he put her in the bin while she was still alive...that's so sickening. It's one thing for these perps to torture and then murder, but then to spare her life (if he did it intentionally), is the worst of evils. To recall he had revisited that bin a couple times after dumping her in there and during the search for her makes me cringe. IMO he was checking to see if she was still alive and suffering. Seems he took great pleasure in knowing she was suffering. He needs to be locked up for the rest of his pathetic life. It scares me to think he actually babysat for people, people put trust and faith in him to take care of their precious children. I hope any children who have been in his care have spoken to a mental health worker to find out if he abused other children. What is really scary is he may have cared for and abused children who are too young to talk. We have no place in society for these monsters who prey on children. He is not curable. IMHO too bad he wasn't three years older and looking at the DP. ALL MOO.
