Which brings me to yet another question for you guys.
Saturday, how do I coordinate this search with it being such a massive area and literally having no idea where to look.
Our turnout is going to be small...let's say 10-15 people.
Do I assign people places to look in the immediate area? Like you take the church, I'll take the convenience stores..etc? Because we also need to canvas motels and hospitals. There are other cities she might be in as well. Do I ask everyone to meet up, then have people volunteer/ be assigned motels, hospitals, clubs, stores, go to different locations?
I have no idea what I'm doing.

Here are Sarah's answers to the questions asked. Some of them raise more questions. Primarily about the deliveries made that day and why the police aren't giving her information. She is family. Also, the PM punching issue seems unclear. Sarah is thinking the situation happened a long time ago then she ran into this guy at PM. She is not sure how, she is asking someone else. I hope this helps with new ideas.

1. Did Maricela take her purse into the store? No

2. Where does she hang out? Home When she was using, where did she go? Only work and straight home !

3. Who is her cell provider? AT&T

4. When was her last day at work and did anything happen? She worked at post mates the same day for only two deliveries and she made me wait in the car since we were hanging out. Has she called in? No

5. Any men she's interested in? No Unhappy females? No Recent breakups? No

6. Are there any other stores in the area with cameras? CVS? Did she go into the 99 Cent Store? Does anyone remember seeing her? I asked around and nothing I checked good will footage and asked around and the 99cents store but they didn't even see her.

7. Has any of her social media accounts been active? No

8. What was her mood like Thursday? Was she happy? Upset? Stressed? Was she supposed to work Friday? She would work every day her mood was the same as always she was calm and just a little stressed about something she just never said why.

9. Does she work in an office? No How does she interact with her co-workers? Doesn't have any it's a delivery app. When was the last day she worked? Thursday around 5 Did anything happen? Nothing

10. Did Maricela run into anyone that day? Surprise visit? Someone/something unexpected? No

11. Did they find anything of hers in the parking lot? Did any store have someone turn in a set of keys? No , I walked around and yes there was cigarette buds by the car. Were there cigarette butts by the car?

12. Has anyone accessed her social media/email to see if she was talking to anyone? Yes and she was not.

13. What are the police doing? Not sure no Info will be released to me.

How long was it when she walked out and her sister begin to think she had gone missing.

I can't remember if we know how long her sister was inside Goodwill before looking for Maricela.
Since Sarah saw the CCTV from goodwill, did she see Maricela actually smoking, or was that off camera?
I'm wondering if someone maybe asked her for a cigarette and they got to talking.

I'm guessing they are but it seems like LE would really question the ladies at the church since they seem to be the last ones to see her and said she was visibly upset.

Spent more time reading the back story from earlier posts and it seems this case could go two ways. She was either abducted or faked her dissapearance out of fear from something. Could it be tied to her recent alleged assault of a coworker? Idk. It's Mistovin's post stating her x is in prison for abducting her before which raises a huge red flag. Although he's been cleared, a hit from an associate in or outside prison in LA is not unheard of. The statement made by her sister alluding to conversations about a secret which made her cry is, if true, confirmation that something serious was worrying her. Id think if she thought someone was going to do her harm she would've said something. Then again I know so many times victims don't want to upset friends or family. Whereas staging her disappearance would be a secret she'd want to tell her sister but couldn't. Also if she was trying to disappear on her own accord it would make sense to leave everything behind, but I'm not convinced she would disappear without help from someone giving her money and shelter. Unfortunately, I'm leaning towards an abduction scenario in this case. Does anyone know how long ago she was previously abducted, or if she could've 'played the victim' card in that case being she's young, was self medicating, and didn't want to get in trouble with her parents ( not saying that's the case ) just looking for more facts on that back story. What was the fight with the coworker she allegedly assaulted about? Lastly, I find the church statements odd. Could she have been looking for someone...she had to go outside and puff two smokes???

I just created that timeline a couple of hours ago. And yes, the GW and the church are basically in the same parking lot, with the GW being set a little further back. If you stood at one, you could see the other.

1. It's my understanding that he kidnapped her about two years ago. According to the family, he is very involved "in his own life" and they seriously doubt that he is involved this time. Seems like he wants to go about his business and they feel that he was "over her" and wouldn't do this. BUT, they are looking into it.
2. Apparently they located her in a motel room and although I don't have details, they fully believe she was there against her will. The ex was actually charged with kidnapping although I don't know if he was convicted.
3. The co-worker/assault story was that he kept coming onto her and she didn't like it. She kept refusing and he wouldn't take no so she punched him. She did not say that she was scared of him, just that he was creepy.
4. Maricela left GW about 720. Sarah went to the car about 745 and she wasn't there. She waited about 15-20 minutes before going into stores looking for her.

What were her other social media accounts? That fb page is old... outdated photos and info. She more than likely had Snapchat and instagram.

Running to the church tells me she went in to hide, or maybe to hide something in there somewhere. It would be good to know all the areas she was in at the church.

The fact that two creepy men came back to the car is really a huge thing. We need to know what these men looked like and if there is any possible way to see if they were caught on camera.

I think those men will go back to that goodwill store, looking for more girls.

Are there any homeless people in that area? I'm not in California, but around here, the Goodwill and Dollar Tree stores are popular with them. They may have seen her, if so.

mistivon - I haven't been able to keep up on this thread today but I just happened to see your post. I'm so glad you are covering all the bases in your search for Maricela. You're doing such a great job.

Imho...from reading is flyers and block off areas and more flyers. No one going off alone and many more flyers.

Did media ever get contacted? I know there is a media thread on here by state.

Also, other resources to help when someone goes missing. I'm not sure if there are any tips on conducting a volunteer search. Possibly the more seasoned sleuthers can be of help before the flyer handout/search day.

I finally went and looked around on maps and the layout is not what I had pictured. I can't upload the screenshot from my phone but this is a lonngg parking lot. GW was on one end and to get to the church, Marcela passed several stores AND her car. Like busy stores. A grocery store, even. Why was she at the church? Did she go there intentionally? If she was running, why not ask for help at the grocery store? It looks like this complex also has a large parking lot on the other side. I wonder if she could have gone in one store through the front then out the back. I'll post the screenshot later...Still looking for my map person
