I am exploring the idea that women who went missing in the 1980's in California could have been possible victims of Joseph James Deangelo, the "Golden State Killer", who was identified today. Marjorie came up in NAMUS but so far I'm not having much success finding anything else on her.

I'm a total amateur at this stuff, but I can't help but wonder if Marjorie could be a potential match to the Vernon County Jane Doe in WI. Although the one photo we have of Marjorie is 11 years before her disappearance, I really see similarities to the colorized Vernon county doe reconstruction. The nose looks identical, they have the same hair and eye colors, a similar face shape, and very close height estimates. Investigators believe that the doe spent time in AZ, NM, or the southwest region prior to her death which is close to where Marjorie is missing from in CA. Her NamUs page notes that she is a "voluntary missing person", so could she have lived those 2 years in the region and then somehow ended up in Wisconsin? As for the dentures and abdominal scar on the doe, the lack of any information on Marjorie makes it hard to know if those details would be consistent with her being a match.

Hey I’m surprised no one has responded to your message. I came here after seeing what I think is your post on Reddit. The eyes and nose are compellingly close,

But I looked carefully at the Vernon doe which has an actual photo of her face. I note there appears to be a substantial difference in the hair texture, enough that it almost rules it out to me, but the key word is almost.

In any case I think it’s a long shot but because of the major distance between Marjorie’s last location and where Vernon Doe was found, if you’re still convinced I’d suggest passing the word to the investigators, BECAUSE of the distance rather than in spite of it. I say that because distances between last location and a body being found can decrease the chance of it being resolved IF it’s a match, thus your input is valuable.
