Hopefully the "acquaintances" who suggested that he speak with police can help with info about where he could have dumped his red shorts. Why can't he produce those shorts unless there is evidence of Marysa on them?

Items include a pair of red shorts, decribed as "Dickie" style shorts and an I-Pod in a pink removable case, the latter of which Marysa was in possession of at the time of her disappearance, the release said.

The I-Pod is between one and four years old with eight to 16 gigabites and is linked to an I-Cloud account.

What I don't get is LE must have Marysa and the perp on video leaving the area together, something was captured. Did anyone see anything at the school? Did he use a vehicle? How did this happen?

He is seen on the video outside the school. A very brief time later (seconds) she is seen. It has also been reported that witnesses gave LE some detailed info on the style and location of the tattoo, which it turned out was on his calf, not his ankle and is pretty large and visible.

This would indicate to me that based on the time stamp on the video and LE subsequently making the video still public, LE were able to find people who were also in the area at the time and witnessed Bealer, Marysa and whatever happened next. Possibly saw him following behind her in her direction of traveled, possibly saw them exchanging words or conversation. IDK, and then you have the acquaintances who apparently recognized Bealer from the video still and encouraged him to turn himself in.

MOO I think the clothes worn during the murder are probably up in smoke and the ipod, I think they need to search that creek bed near where her body was found.

friends who convinced Bealer to turn himself in speak out.

The house on 2nd street appears to be theirs and Bealer did not reside there but sometimes stayed in the shed/garage out back.

"I told him either you're going to walk with me down to the police department, or I'm going to have the police come and pick you up. It's better to have me walk you there and not be in handcuffs."

On Monday, the two men said they were shocked and angry. They said Bealer recently went through a divorce, lost his job and just got out of jail.

This was interesting. It appears that after the release of the video snippet, the friends recognized him and went looking for him. They found him at the HS. Now why would he go back to the HS and be loitering around there after video stills of him as a POI were being widely circulated asking the public to identify him?

Was he attempting to see his daughter because the hammer was about to fall? Was he looking for something incriminating to get rid of?

After surveillance footage was released, both roommates immediately began searching for Bealer around town. When they found Bealer wandering around the high school, Hency confronted him about the surveillance video, but Bealer denied it was him.

After Hency confronted him about the clothing he wearing in the surveillance video, he finally confessed.

Last week on Tuesday afternoon Eddie Ouellette arrived home to find friend Quentin Bealer hosing himself down in the back yard. Days later the reality of what he was doing set in.

“He was hiding the clothes that he killed that little girl in. He was hiding those clothes because I believe there was blood that he was washing off his body,” said Ouellette.

Eddie and his friend Mike followed the Marysa Nichols disappearance from the beginning but didn't make the connection to Bealer until Friday night.

“When I seen that video, I told mike, you need to call the tip line. You need to let them know that this is Quentin.
“I show him(Quentin) the video of it... and he is like... that’s me,” said Mike Hency.

On the news clip from ksltv in the #158 & 159 posts they said women often felt uncomfortable around Bealer. He came on too strong and often viewed on his phone in public.

poor Marysa, such a beautiful girl, whole future ahead of her. What a smile she had.

Her dad is devastated as are her mom and stepdad from reading the social network pages.

Hosing himself off in the backyard? He was staying in a garage? I read that he was picked up and charged with being under the influence of drugs initially. Why was he back at the high school? To look for evidence he may have left behind or to troll for more victims? Why did the school or police not notice a guy like him hanging around the vicinity of the school when a 14 year old girl had just gone missing, anyway? SIGH.....I'm happy those friends of his made him go to police. They must feel horrible that this girl may have been killed on their property (not sure yet if this is the case though I feel it is).

from local rumor and what is being reported by the friends and acquaintances, it appears Bealer has been out of work, homeless, and hitting the meth hard lately. Weird thing is when I saw the pics of the garage being searched my first thought was that it would not surprise me to learn that the garage/shed had been used to make meth.

Not sure why that thought popped into my head. Meth must have been trying to bring itself to my attention in regards to this case.

His friends who let him crash there may not be strangers to the drug culture themselves (just personal opinion and not trying to suggest they have anything to do with this girls death). Even those involved in that lifestyle are not necessarily okay with someone raping (if that happened) and murdering a child.

Regardless, I am really glad these friends did the right thing and walked him into the station.

My guess is, he got high before going to police station. maybe even his friends allowed that if only he would turn himself in. (just a guess here)

He shows up to turn himself in for questioning at the urging of his friend who accompanies him. He is questioned and during questioning is found to be under the influence of drugs and arrested. Later after more questioning and search warrants being executed, he is charged with her murder.

ETA please note all of the above is PURE SPECULATION on my part with limited info available and using common sense to extrapolate.

So poor Marysa was just at the wrong place at the wrong time? Gut wrenching to even think of what she went through.

Also, I wonder how his daughter is coping. High School years are often tough enough, but to have your father rape(presumption) and murder a classmate? My God. I really hope she has a strong support system and her peers don't look down on her in any way

Not being dramatic, I realize his daughter was not harmed physically by his actions in killing Marysa, but he certainly did his child harm. I agree, she needs lots of good support. I can't even imagine being in her shoes.

I completely agree that she too is a victim. What with all of the bullying and ostracizing of others for silly things like a person's appearance or socioeconomic status in HS, I fear for this poor child's mental health.

I hesitate to suggest this, but maybe a change in schools would benefit her. She will certainly need counseling. My hope is the mom was far removed from the perp's life and they have a strong and loving family

Red Bluff Police say preliminary autopsy results show 14 year-old Marysa Nichols cause of death was "asphyxiation by ligature strangulation". Tune in to Action News tonight for the very latest.

They're still searching for the red pants believed to have been worn by murder suspect Quentin Bealer, and the victim's Ipod Touch ... which may hold valuable evidence about the crime.

which leads me to wonder, if the COD is strangulation then why was Bealer hosing himself down? Perhaps to remove dirt and brush from the area he disposed of her body?

I really wonder if that is also where he killed her. I am assuming the pants would have no blood evidence if she was strangled but they do not say what, if any, other injuries or trauma she suffered. So perhaps her DNA might be on them either through the struggle or due to rape if that was a factor.
