GUILTY CA - Matthew Muller for kidnap, rape of 30yo woman, Vallejo, 2015

  • #241
I believe this was a stunt concocted to get her off the hook when they heard police might charge them. Maybe attorney came up with it. She still has not stepped forward to tell what happened. They used boyfriends car to kidnap then abandoned it so what car drove her the rest of the way to HB? Waste of police resources and time.

Maybe the person behind these emails never even met DH or boyfriend. One or more hoaxers heard the story saw how pretty DH was on the news came to her defense and wanted to have fun with this story to gain attention.
..very possible,it is California,LOL.

The verbiage quoted and the length of the letters included in the emails sounds very much like schizophrenia to me. I'm no expert and have only read a few examples, but that's sure what it seems like to me.

Whoever the author is, I hope they will seek professional help instead of continuing this farce or contributing to it. Kidnapping, false police reports and mental illness really are serious matters, regardless of what a very welcome and entertaining distraction it has been. (For me anyway.)

You know, I'm all for laughing at this story, but California has nothing to do with it. :/

Thanks for defending CA. As a fellow Californian, I appreciate it. I think there are people everywhere who come up with crazy schemes.

I hope everyone involved in this gets the help they need, whatever that may be.

Hey California,
You are safe. It's ok. My research leads me to believe that the state with the craziest carp is most often Florida. Forgive me Floridian WS'ers but you know ya'll got some crazy stuff that happens there too, lol. Hey, I'm in Louisiana and I don't deny that my state has some pretty freaky stuff going on!

SwampMama, we have our share of crazies in Louisiana!

The Holocaust was tragic. Sandy Hook, Columbine, Aurora theater and other mass shootings are tragic.
I think this woman may have been trying to hoax her own "boyfriend" for some reason....out of $8,500 on "the easy payment plan".

I mean seriously. What an absurd statement. What a ridiculous blowhard the uncle is. Who are these people?

Their lawyers aren't doing them any favors either, they just keep fanning the flames.

You'd think they would all just shut up and take a month long vacation until things cool down.

But no.........they just keep poking at the bear trap...............

I'm trying to figure out what the end game is here.

I love the way you expressed yourself here! Poking the bear trap!

I guess they are now trying to avoid charges for perpetrating this hoax. But they're just digging themselves a deeper hole. (And. Btw, guys, no attorney would suggest they make threats to the public and police in order to avoid charges for the hoax).

Rappaport says the alleged kidnappers claim to be car thieves who wanted to go bigger with their crimes. "She wasn't the intended target," Rappaport said. Rappaport won't say who the real target of the crime was, but say the kidnappers want to make one thing clear. "While they're not willing to give themselves up, they feel that they've created a secondary harm, or I guess a tertiary harm in the sense that they hurt her originally during the kidnapping and now they are hurting her because she's a suspect," Rappaport said.

Rappaport speculates that the reason the email was sent was because the kidnappers feel remorse.

Rappaport denies his client wrote the email.

It drives me batty when attorneys make such silly comments with such authority. Does anyone ever fall for any such ridiculous statements?

Quite honorable and thoughtful, these criminals are.

Ultimatum dropped, apologies made for threatening cops. (And so much more, LOL.)

Oh yeah. They're trying to avoid even more serious charges for threatening the cops and the public. I think these people are creeps and I really want to see them charged and locked up. They anger me. And their family members. These are not good people.

Fake kidnappers, fake victims, their attorneys and family make me sick. I wish they would all go away. They really screwed up. If something truly really bad happens to them in the future police will not believe their story.

In yet another email to the San Francisco Chronicle:

The kidnapper says he will turn himself in, but only if his co-conspirators are given immunity. The individuals wrote that police could accept this offer, or that he would 'go overseas and teach English' or 'live off the grid and read books for the rest of my life.'

BBM: READ books? Why do that when the 'kidnapper' is such a talented fiction WRITER?

I think at this point the media is feeding into it because it keeps getting more and more bizarre. Gotta admit the whole thing is ridiculously stupid. It's one of those dog bites man stories. Gentle kidnappers has waves of conscience, and let's victim go, gives her a ride home and tries desperately to exonerate her in the press. Not your usual kidnap fare. LOL

Well, it is certainly more entertaining than diplomatic negotiations in Iran, terrorists in Kenya, and plane crashes overseas. To me anyway. I would love to know what Daddy thinks about all of this now. (My dad would kick my butt into the 23rd century. Publicly.)

Has anybody looked up this Rappaport character? I found him listed in a big civil suit as a defendant (not as representation for a defendant) but couldn't view the case files.
