One must have great amounts of patience here, as these "preliminary hearings" could easily continue for several more years. The justice system in California is broken and there's no easy fix.

It's very difficult to wait but you're right about the justice system in California.
It's such a horrific crime, but as long as they are in custody they can't hurt other children so yes, we will have to wait. It's one of a few trials that I'd consider attending if it's allowed.

*Pretrial Hearing for both (@ 8:30am PT) – CA- Maurice Taylor, Jr. (12) & Maliaka Taylor (13) (killed on Nov. 29, 2020, found on Dec. 4, 2020, Lancaster, found decapitated) – *Maurice Jewel Taylor, Sr. (34/now 37) “father” arrested (12/4/20), charged (12/8/20) & arraigned (12/21/20) & re-arraigned (11/10/21) & re-arraigned (4/26/22) with 2 counts of felony murder & 2 counts child abuse under circumstances likely to cause great bodily injury or death (8 & 9 yr. old boys were starved for several days). Plead not guilty. $4.2M Bond.
*Natalie Sumiko Brothwell (44/now 46) “mom” charged (9/27/21) & arrested (9/28/21) & extradited to CA (10/14/21) & arraigned (11/10/21) & re-arraigned (4/26/22) with 2 counts of 1st degree murder & 2 counts of child endangerment (8 & 9 yr. old boys) Plead not guilty. $2M bond. Bond raised (10/14/21) to $4.2M.

Thank you for your kind words Snoopster! Honestly I'm not brave, I just want to bare wittness for the children of what the monsters who were supposed to love them did to them.
A few years ago I attended the trial of a fellow RN who was brutally murdered by her husband in front of her children. She had 25 -30 stab wounds (I think I've blocked out the total number and I sat through those pictures (with my coworkers). Their house had camera's everywhere so there was actually video of the murder. It wasn't easy but we (as many coworkers who could fit in the rather small area for family and friends) were there for her every day.

Thanks Snoopster. I'm an empath by nature. I feel horrible for these children, those that were murdered and those who survived. I hope there is some way that the surviving children can go on to have happy lives with someone who loves them.

We can only hope. The surviving children must be so messed up. I also hope that there is a chance that they can find the happiness that was so horrifically stripped from them.

I agree. In 2017 a friend and coworker of mine was murdered in her home by her husband in front of her children. It took 2 years to go to trial in California. If it had happened now I can't even imagine how long it would take.
I know they blame much of it on covid but come on now. They can only use that excuse for so long. How about California build more court houses and hire more judges and staff? I'm not asking you Joe. I'm just thinking out loud.
