''Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of a female black and a male black possibly in their teenage years on the 45000 block of Century Circle, Lancaster on Friday, December 4, 2020 at approximately 7:50 A.M.

Detectives have learned that Los Angeles County Fire Personnel received a call at the location regarding a possible gas leak. Fire personnel responded and made entry into the location, at which time they saw a male and a female deceased inside the location. Fire personnel immediately called LA County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station deputies, which responded and secured the location.

Detectives have learned that the deceased male and female both appeared to be suffering from lacerations and stab wounds.

At the location there was also one male and one female adult, along with two other children who are currently being questioned by Homicide Investigators.

The relationship between the decedents and the four persons at the location is unknown at this time pending interviews with Homicide Investigators.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time.

Odor. Gas or HR decomp?
From quote below, I wonder if anyone/a neighbor actually smelled gas or something similar. I'm getting impression from below that one of the trainer's students knew the family and maybe tried checking soc media & saw no posts for a few days, and did not get thru by phone, online, etc.

If so, I can see someone in Howard's place calling 911/ fire dept and speculating it could be gas. A gas leak could account for all in a household be impaired, sick, or dead. That idea might come to mind before the thought of decapitation.

Or maybe a neighbor or visitor to the home smelled something and told 911/FD. my2cts

It's being covered on all the southern CA news stations. I suppose when someone is actually charged with the murders we will hear more of the details.

Yes, you're right -- the arrest always makes the news, and we should hear about and the why of the charges. SMH. There were some positive comments about him from those who apparently knew him. But this kind of thing does happen -- we've seen it, and seen it, and seen it.

No idea how old the other children are, but wondering if the particular ages of the deceased kids ( 12 and 13 yrs.) had anything to do with it? speculation.

Living here in Lancaster, that's the first I've seen that it was someone outside the house that called. It was shocking when the news first came out that the victims were two kids then it got even worse when it came out they had been decapitated. It's been all over my FB feed all day and everyone is talking about it.

I feel so bad for the LACFD and LASD that has to respond to that call. <modsnip>

Many kids who at least had the escape of school and benefit of external eyes on them, are stuck at home. It terrifies me to think of what some of them may be enduring.

Agreed and especially with the problems with DCFS here in the area. I'm sure it's this has made their job that much harder.
