I’m sure someone has already brought this up, but for me, I just don’t see a mom locking herself in a bedroom for 11 hours. Sure, the door may have been locked, but I highly doubt she was on the other side. A devoted mom, as reported, would make sure her children’s were a priority. JMO
yes she seams like the type of person who is always active. out and about. locking in room for a day wouldnt fit that characteristic.

That’s what I keep coming back to as well. There’s no way she was locked in there for 11 with total disregard to her children, who she was home schooling for one, and to whom she seemed a wonderful, engaged mother. She wouldn’t leave them (and be in the same house) to their own devices. IMO, MOO, alphabet soup du jour.

I agree. The only way I can see her being locked behind a door for that long is if she was incapable of unlocking it. I personally don't think she was there at all on Friday but that's JMO

Isn't he the PI who messed up things with the case of Orrin and Orson? MOO

I hope there will be something new, I hope LE finds May soon.

Yes, and I will wisely sit on my hands rather than comment further.

Not necessarily for this case, but more a viewpoint to consider. Being bed-bound for the day whilst normally leading an outwardly active and happy life is not uncommon for those suffering with depression. Think it's important to remember that a life shown on social media particularly, but also a life as described by our nearest and dearest doesn't always accurately reflect the truth.

Like I said, I'm not necessarily saying this is what I believe in this case, but it's a possible explanation that doesn't include foul play.

Yes, MOO, my own opinion is that she wasn't in that house on Friday. Not behind any locked door in any which 4 or 5 bedrooms of the house.

LM left Friday he says so Maya wouldn't take the son to Big Bear. Isn't it odd he comes home and didn't question her why she hadn't left or check the darn locked door (the girls must have mentioned) Friday night? I don't believe LM's "like room mates" story, or "gave her space" excuses. Nothing he said sits right with me. I don't have to believe everything or anything he says. JMO though.

I also don't believe an argument would stop Maya from getting ready and taking off with those girls to Big Bear. Mad at hubbie, take off to Big Bear! She traveled with her daughters to many wonderous places, and I didn't see LM in any of those pics. Maya had no problem being independent and being proactive. My belief is she was the one who made a divorce attorney appt., and it had something to do with their argument.

This is all MOO. Could've been a late night local drive Thursday night, or the Friday. I think it's possible and worth considering if someone might have helped one way or another. Hiding something. Why did sister and BIL look for something hidden in Glamis?

I see there's a search in the Escondido area tomorrow. One thing I wish LE or the new PI could do for Maya's family is give them a hint of where to search. I thought LE could check the car's GPS to get a clue. Why does anybody think Maya may be found in Escondido? Bless all the caring people for searching. It's just that California is huge. I hope they do some Geo Profiling to figure out a likely direction a certain person might go.

MOO and a bit of frustration that Maya hasn't been found.

LE must now by now where that car was on Fri. Plus that long in this age would almost guarantee some kind of device for the little one in the car imo. Perhaps car has inbuilt DVD players but perhaps a tablet was there too although he made sure his phone wasn't there MOO just hoping for more info.

But I agree with you 100%, even after a huge argument, he'd try to find out why she didn't go, even if it would be just for him to feel good that he ruined her plans (he admitted he didn't want her to take the boy so he took him, clearly it was to make her feel bad. Imo this often'requires' feedback that it was successful, so he'd go and check her to see how upset she'd became moo).JMO

He wouldn't miss his daughter's birthday party because they had an argument and I doubt he would take his son away from it also.
Something happened to May Thursday night / Friday wee morning hours.

my own opinion is that she wasn't in that house on Friday

That seems a reasonable conclusion considering Maricris called the whole "I heard her in the kitchen making dinner" statement into serious doubt with the timeline she gave.
LM arrived home at 5pm on Friday. Maricris said their brother went by after work probably between 5-6 and knocked on the door of the Master Bedroom. So if Maya is alive and making dinner in the kitchen after that would the kids not have wanted to go downstairs to see their mother after at least 11 hours? And she makes no attempt to contact her family during this time knowing they are worried enough to have come to the house already? Just doesn't seem logical.

Here's what I'm trying to sort through in my mind.
*If* May was ever in the vehicle LM drove on Friday, (such as in the trunk), LE certainly would have detected that by now IWT? Further, the children would know if May was in the house on Friday, the older ones at least who were supposedly being home schooled?

So many inconsistencies, or at least from the outside looking in.
What a baffling case, and so sad. Beautiful, vivacious young woman missing and three little kids left without a mom. Let us pray this case is close to some answers.

BBM. When I heard that LM took his son to Solana Beach on that Friday, my first thought was that the Del Dios Highway ends there, if you are going west from Escondido. DDH is a twisty, beautiful, scenic sort of back road which runs past the Lake Hodges Reservoir and through the Elfin Forest and Rancho Santa Fe, to the coast. I haven't traveled DDH for years, but when I lived in Escondido, it was the fastest way to the beach. It has scenic overlooks with views of the Lake Hodges Dam , and a few well-traveled hiking trails, not to mention lots of open space. Traffic used to be sparse, but there has been a lot of development since I was there, so it's probably not like I remember it. Still, it is the closest thing to a "drive in the country" I can think of in north San Diego county, and might be a reasonable place to look for Maya. MOO

Larry doesnt seem like a murderer to me. I wish the next interviewer would ask Larry if Maya was having an affair.

I would agree he doesn’t fit the profile. But many times they don’t; they snap. I pray this is not the case, but where is Maya?!

Well, is it really an affair if the couple has been separated, living like "roommates", and looking into getting a divorce? I actually don't get the vibe that it was Maya that was seeing someone new. She was doing a lot of stuff with friends, with her kids and her extended family, it looks like she was doing her own thing. What was HE doing?

Thank You for answering my "why Escondido?" question. I see what you mean. There's spots, and all it takes is one good spot and be fast about it. It sure is much more populated now days, but there's still some areas. I see they're meeting at the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve and at Lake Hodges. Bless those searchers. There's so much area to cover though.
I'm all for drones now ever since @rosesfromangels mentioned the idea.
