He is considered a military veteran due to having served on active duty, though it was only for a few years. War veterans must have served during times of conflict/war. He did serve on active duty though, then in the reserve for a few years it appears, and now he is a civilian contractor at the Navy hospital.

and yes, I thought the same thing about getting rid of the guns - who does that?! Let alone tell the police about it? More and more astounded at his gall every day.....

Thank you for clarifying. That makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking.

Hopefully his overconfidence will bite him in the butt. The more charges the better in my opinion... assuming that he's guilty of course.

Larry responded:
"All my firearms were purchased legally. I'm a law-abiding citizen and veteran. My rights have been violated numerous times. Especially my 2nd and 4th amendments.
Also I would like to add that I have served no aggression or pose no risk that would prohibit me from owning or possessing firearms. It's our constitutional right as Americans."
Snipped for focused response. LM is responding exactly as his attorney has instructed him to. These are attempts at deflection and aligning LM with, and portraying him as a protective and responsible citizen.
Let's contrast that feeble attempt to cleanse LM's image with what has been presented to us via MSM:

So the navy recruits gang members who have been arrested for stabbing incidents? Perhaps given his age it was expunged? Seems concerning.

I wondered about that too... I know juvenile records get sealed, but I would think a federal background check would find that still? Scary to think they knew and enlisted him anyway.

Update on Warrant:

Millete son photographed near cache of illegal guns | cbs8.com

Photos shows 4-year-old on table with guns, ammunition, and 4 passports...photo was dated January 9, 2021:
"A photograph -- allegedly downloaded by police from Larry Millete's cell phone on January 23 -- showed the boy standing on "a kitchen table with a cache of 16 firearms, 4 United States Passports, a government Identification card, several high capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition," according to the newly-released record.

"The photograph, as well as a second photo showing the cache of weapons without the boy standing on the table, have been sealed by the judge in the case."
Holy macaroni Batman! Just popped in to see this. Need to catch up ! Have they arrested him or removed the children yet?!!!

No :(

This is even scarier than what I’ve imagined, except for imagining what those poor children already went through the night of the “gun shots”. Moo

A juvenile record isn't automatically disqualifying. It depends on the offense--if they think you're good material, and adequately reformed, you can get a waiver. (And the military can see expunged records. It's a felony to try to conceal it.)

... More and more astounded at his gall every day.....
Me too.
I get the feeling he's spoiled and protected by his family. He's relying on his parents a lot, I think, and they may be supporting a terrible, terrible crime that cheated their grandchildren out of having their loving mother. There's other family members involved, as we know. What do they hope to gain? They seem all in, risking their own freedom for LM. This is all MOO though.

LM thinks he's smarter than LE cause he watched crime shows. All eyes are on him though. Either Maya will be found, and there were slip ups or someone will talk. MOO, he's had a lot of help, but will eventually face consequences. I hope he doesn't have a big tantrum then and lash out with his hidden guns.

All thoughts and MOO. Waiting...

Well yikes. A *stabbing* seems like a good reason to disqualify IMHO. None the less, it does seem as if he had a successful navy experience, and we'll give him that.

Great post. I share your thoughts. As far as LM goes, he's beyond help at this point; his fate is sealed. His "assistants" need to toss aside whatever misguided "loyalty" they think they have to save themselves from a life behind bars. They will not be able to lawyer their way out of this...they need to cut a deal with the D.A.....and quickly before that window of opportunity closes.

It's too late for LM, still a chance for those who have helped him.

I'm sure we don't know A LOT about LM's record.

I would have expected a stabbing to be disqualifying, but there's no way to know what the waiver said. I'm not even sure what the procedure is, just know it exists.

There was a definite problem in years past with gang members joining the US military. It was very organized to set up world wide drug smuggling businesses. Not to say that Larry was involved in that. Just an example of how recruits were not vetted very well. Times have changed and they would not be able to enlist now.

Also, to clarify Larry's veteran status. He is a veteran entitled to all benefits. He never served in combat and is not a combat vet. My Marine son is a combat vet. He says being a combat vet gets you nothing extra, just bragging rights.

And our immense gratitude and respect. God Bless your son, and you for raising a brave hero.
