Attorneys are expected to reconvene next month to iron out the final details regarding questionnaires for prospective jurors, who are expected to be screened for their potential exposure to details of the case contained in various news reports since the 2021 disappearance of Millete's wife, May "Maya" Millete

The publicity surrounding the case has been a point of contention for Millete's attorneys, who have argued the media coverage and press conferences hosted by police and prosecutors may have tainted Millete's chances for a fair trial. Superior Court Judge Enrique Camarena, who will preside over the trial, has denied defense requests to have the trial moved away from the Chula Vista courthouse or out of San Diego County entirely, which Millete's attorneys argued would provide him with a more unbiased jury pool.

I think defense attorneys in general are going to have to come up with a new game plan rather than claiming the jury pool in their area is tainted, and their client won't receive a fair trial unless the case is moved.

This is the day of global connectivity, 24/7-- where you can overdose on news from any area that you've never visited, lived, and/or worked in before! IMO, if Kouri Richins could receive a fair trial by the jurors in Summit County, UT (population about 45K), Larry can find an unbiased jury in San Diego County.

Nearly 90 prospective jurors appeared at the Chula Vista courthouse Monday to fill out questionnaires aimed at determining whether they might sit on the upcoming murder trial for the husband of missing Chula Vista resident, May "Maya" Millete.
[.....]
The trial is expected to last around three months, prompting a rigorous jury selection process that includes an initial round of jurors screened through a questionnaire tailored by the court and attorneys on both sides.

Jury selection is officially expected to begin on May 11, which will involve jurors questioned in person by the prosecution and defense on a variety of topics.

He does have a felony motions hearing on 4/27/26.

^^rsbm

We know that the content of the jury questionnaires has not been publicly released, perhaps this is why the prospective jurors were required to appear in person at the Chula Vista courthouse. IMO, seems extremely inefficient to me! It's one thing to request time off work for a jury summons and/or voir dire -- but to fill out a preliminary questionnaire that most jurisdictions complete online is very unusual.

I don't know if you followed this days-long televised Preliminary Hearing back in January 2023.

I hope so too. It sounds hopeful. Apparently, we'll find out next week.

A hearing next week will address whether cameras will be permitted in the courtroom during the trial.

I remember these hearings all too well. Watched every painful minute of them. Larry's lawyer, Bonita M, was an oddball during court proceedings and was later investigated for fraud. moo

BIG NEWS on Fox5 News at 4 p.m. about a possible delay of Larry Millete's Trial with documents having been filed accusing there were lies and misconduct... It has not been decided yet, but the news reported this could cause a delay of up to a year.

Oh no! 😲😡🤬

Stay tuned please. I want to find the news video & article.

HERE:
The motion, filed last Friday, claims Deputy District Attorney Christy Bowles and others engaged in improper conduct, including presenting false testimony and misinterpreting evidence. If granted, the case would be handed over to the California Attorney General’s Office, potentially delaying the trial, which is currently scheduled to begin in mid-May.

Within news article you can read the documents filed.

The attorneys for Larry Millete, the Chula Vista husband and father accused of killing his wife, Maya Millete, are asking the judge to dismiss the deputy district attorney and the entire office from the case. NBC 7's Dave Summers has the story.

Haven't read it yet, will keep an open mind, but this feels like strategy. Pound the table with noisy allegations of misconduct, create conspiracy where there isn't one. The new way to do law. Smoke and mirrors. And a magic hat.

Lord, have mercy.

8 pages in before they even get to this egregious illegal behavior which has robbed the Defense of being able to trust any of them to be fair.

Comes down to the State's LE expert witnesses not taking Maya's supposed affair seriously.

Point for the Defense: affair was sooooo serious, they had an anniversary date, which also corresponds to the day Maya went missing. (Which only implicatea the defendant worse! Bet that date inspired all kinds of impotent rage in the defendant.)

Is the defendant seriously this unhinged?

He is.

I'm already spitting teeth, having just watched the Konig trial. Where instead of the attempted murder and battery charges he was facing, the Defense managed to obscure that reality, instead putting the wife on trial for her supposed adultery, which was completely overblown. Deja vu.

The defendant here must still feel justified. Infidelity, regardless of scope, grants him some sort of nuptial immunity to administer what ever sort of divine justice he feels compelled to levy.

So far, revolting.

It only got worse from there.

Alternate SODDIs.

At the prelim, the State apparently failed to make the Defense's points for them.

Can't prove that all those spells were for Maya. And besides, it was his "extreme desperation to "repair marriage that he ordered those spells which he just said could have been ordered for anyone. Sure.

The defendant says he didn't prevent investigators from interviewing his children. No, on their own, the children just didn't want to. Gee, I wonder why. No external pressure bearing down on them. Sure again.

It's not the defendant's fault he got mail, against restric from the children while in jail.

Defendant's attorney asked for a continuance, on account of her father's death which the State learned had occurred a significant time prior. Defendant prattles on about what a grave invasion of threat attorney's personal privacy.

I'm applying DARVO to all of it.

And I want the time back that it took me to read that rubbish.
