I'm trying to square the fact that he offered to help her when to all appearances she wasn't looking for help and hadn't reported being a victim of a crime. She hadn't even reported her daughter missing to police. Why would you offer help to someone who knows what happened?
Hoping she would admit to what she had done to the girl would be my guess.

Anywho!! I hadn’t seen this before. Not sure if anyone else had.

“He said when he first heard of Melodee's disappearance he reached out to Ashlee to offer help. He reportedly didn't hear back from her for about a week, but in early November Ashlee called his office. She allegedly invited him to her house and Brewer went over to talk multiple times.

He said that on Nov. 6, he was asking her about the road trip she took with Melodee and when he brought up a specific location on the route, Ashlee's demeanor reportedly changed and she asked him repeatedly, "How do you know I left her there?" Brewer told KEYT during an interview.

Interesting little trickle.
Should he be speaking publicly???????

I worry about jeopardizing a rescue, recovery, investigation, conviction -- whichever of these this case is.

I was looking at the court video and A looks really bad, like might-be-ill bad. Could it be that she has a terminal illness and wanted to make sure M doesn’t end up with her blood relatives due to the complex past? So somehow she found someone she thinks is safe and “better” to raise M? If she knows she doesn’t have long left she wouldn’t have any motivation to speak up either. I’m sure police can access medical records and surely if that was the case they wouldn’t be able to release this information, but they’d probably be careful about how they handle her in the hopes that she will eventually tell them where M is.

This is all speculation of course, her appearance (weight loss, skin tone, possible hair loss etc) can be due to drugs or stress or a million other things. But she just looks so defeated and sad.

IMO, TB was communicating with the paternal family and LE, he went there to see if he could get Ashlee to talk.

That situation culminated in the event he described, where she freaked out and allegedly wouldn’t allow him to leave. The box cutter was an embellishment.

Her felony arrest did not result in a confession. Nor did what Ashlee allegedly told TB about where Melodee was dropped off, result in her being found.

Whole thing stinks to high heaven and seems like a bit of an embarrassment. Judge likely agreed. All just my thoughts and opinion.

I saw the SM posts he made, as well as the media interviews. The details he gave changed, for that reason I’m hesitant to trust. This article is yet another example.

In high profile cases there is always side drama, people insert themselves for various reasons.

She looks bad for sure. I’m thinking more from drugs or whatever stress this has caused for her and her mental health combo.

Would Ashlee still be receiving the SS checks for Melodee if she's missing? Sorry if that's already been asked.

If Ashlee is the representative payee for Melodee's SS survivor's benefit and Melodee is no longer in Ashlee's care, legally she'd have to notify the SSA to let them know who's care she's in, and that person becomes the representative payee. Now, that's in a normal situation. I only know this because I went through it with my step-son many years ago.

When a child receiving benefits goes missing, I'm unclear on how the SSA handles that.

apologies for the "wine in front of me", but i wonder if the location is wrong and she was putting on a show so people would think it was the right location and go on a wild goose chase. seems convoluted, but she has put a fair amount of thought and effort into misleading people about whatever she did with her daughter. some people are smooth enough to pull off a manipulation like that.

obviously still worth checking the location, as i assume LE already has done or is doing.

I don’t know that they need to handle it any way. We don’t know if those funds are going to support her in some capacity. Ashlee doesn’t think she’s missing.

Let's play this out. If Ashlee is ill and wanted to protect M from her family I would also think that she would want her daughter to have a life where she could at least have the potential to be her own person one day. (and yes, even as I am typing this I do realize how ridiculous this sounds as she has basically not exhibited that type of parenting, in fact the opposite IMO) But wouldn't she want M to be schooled? How would that be accomplished? M would have to get a new identity, new vaccination records, new SS number and possible school records. That could be a tall task for just about anyone although I guess not impossible.

Makes me realize that more than likely M is still not enrolled in any form of state run education and she won't be able to receive any kind of health care. This is such a mess!

Plus the blonde hair and grey sweater were washing her out a fair bit IMO

i mean, it's not in doubt that ashlee knows where she is

I get why they put the ankle monitor, except I think it would have been better just to release her and see what she does. There is a missing child involved, maybe they think it better to isolate her and limit her to her phone and house/ laptop etc.....so she is forced to communicate in a way that they can monitor more easily. There is a missing child involved and they need to get to her.

it's weird that she doesn't think she needs to tell people what she did with her missing child..and. she gets to swan out of jail in her skinny jeans and wig and go home.

Bottom line is, if benefits are being paid out for Melodee and Ashlee cannot/will not produce her to demonstrate she's being properly cared for, that's SS fraud.

Do amish kids for example have public and traceable school records? From an outsiders pov it seems that there are so many weird cult-like, politically motivated, religion-based etc ways to disappear in the US if someone was feeling very paranoid. If a kid was dropped off at say a community of doomsday-preppers, why would they ever feel the need to enrol her in the public school system? They’d just “school” her themselves.

And it doesn't seem to me that she wants to protect the child, it seems to me that she needs him for financial benefits, thanks to the fact that she has a child and some program she doesn't even have to pay rent. That's why she was afraid of losing the girl. That angry look she had at the girl in the video tells me everything. All that remains is to wait for a miracle. The child must be insured and she is the beneficiary. Her first child was taken away from her because she fed the child rotten food.
