Buzzard's defense attorney says their team is continuing to comb through case warrants and forensic evidence records, but Buzzard must be present to assure a speedy trial.

The hearing was rescheduled to March 18th. If Buzzard fails to appear on that date, Judge Dunkle will issue an extraction order.

BBM Good. IMO unless she is under the immediate care of the facility's doctor she should be required to face a fine/fee's for her absences.

Extraction order sounds professional. My local court calls it a DRAG order, which sounds a little more descriptive!

drag her butt in there in leg irons. She is in custody, so she needs to be made to comply MOO Why is the court putting up with it? I never understood why the put up with it from Daybell either. Prima donna crap

El Paso County, Colorado District Judge Werner had to be one of the most patient I've ever witnessed. However, after convicted child killer Leticia Stauch pushed her courtroom antics one time too many, he addressed the Court's "extraction order" directly with Stauch, when she finally showed up, after delaying the proceeding for more than an hour.

In other words, having seen this behavior before, I think MB's "extraction order" is best delivered in person by the Judge-- leaving no doubt in the defendant's mind that they will be delivered to the Court, using necessary and reasonable force if necessary. JMO.

If she really is bi-polar as her Mom told the media, is she being medicated/treated in jail? Not saying this is an excuse not to appear, just curious about her mental health status.

I like DRAG order @sasha17 :)

Jordan Lockey, the prosecution’s lead attorney, requested that Judge Stephen Dunkle, the presiding judge, make an extraction order, which would require Buzzard to appear in court. Lockey said she found it hard to believe that illness is “an earnest representation of what’s actually going on.”

Buzzard’s public defender, Erica Sutherland, said that Buzzard had ongoing medical needs and asked Judge Dunkle not to order her extraction.

😍😍😍 Judge Werner. He kept that trial on course. He quietly demanded respect from everyone in the court, he was warm and good humoured, and he was absolutely brutal in his sentencing remarks. Another judge, it could have been an absolute circus.

MOO

Ashlee Buzzard was physically present in court for the first time since Jan. 21. At the outset, Judge Dunkle reminded those in the courtroom that still photos cannot show Buzzard in restraints or include members of the audience.

During Wednesday’s hearing, Sutherland said she filed a motion Tuesday seeking to challenge a search warrant tied to the case. Known as a motion to “quash or traverse,” the request asks the court to either invalidate the warrant entirely or review whether it was based on accurate and sufficient information.

Prosecutors initially raised concerns about how the motion was filed but said they were no longer objecting, provided the documents remain sealed. The filing includes materials related to search warrants that are already protected from public release.

The case was continued to April 1 for that purpose.

What a strange thing for her to say.

For the first time since her arrest, Buzzard said more than one or two words to the judge. After being asked if she was okay with returning April 1, Buzzard responded, "Yeah, as long as the court date is not on a holiday."

That's bizarre. A court date wouldn't be scheduled on a holiday anyway!
