She does have a large volume of seemingly thick healthy hair, but hair product and styling would reduce the volume even if it wasnt cut.

But if not cut short (as a former wig wearer with TONS of hair), her natural hair would be collected and gathered around the crown of her head. Often you can spot a bump at the back of someone's head if they are wearing a wig over their natural hair. The hoodie she's wearing in CCTV would effectively hide that bump.

Melodee's own hair could have been styled to be straight.

I had no idea one co-worker's long hair was naturally quite curly until she came in without it being straightened one day.

She straightened out her curly hair before coming in to work each day by blow drying it and using a hair iron and some hair product. She let me know of another co-worker who did the same thing. It looked naturally straight to me.

I'm afraid you might be right and I'd really, really love it if we all find out she really is okay, somewhere hidden away and being well cared for.

I’m solidly on the fence in regard to Melodee’s wellbeing. The thing that keeps me from thinking she was harmed, Ashlee came back to Lompoc after the trip and hasn’t tried to flee (AFAWK).

But we know nothing - zip, nada, zilch, about what kind of a parent she is. For that matter, what kind of human - tender hearted, stoic, cruel. We have no frame of reference whatsoever.

It's not about the fat or lack of it, at least for me. It's about the facial features.

Also Melodee 's hair are long and dark so long, dark wig won't change her appearance much, it just has no sense as a disguise. Her mother though has distinctly brown hair, different than Melodee's. She would need a wig to cosplay her daughter.

But there must be pictures also with Ashlee at the rental office, as she did the paperwork and gave her ID. Le would have known if that was Ashlee in that hoodie and wig because she would have been seen giving them her ID and credit card.

Perhaps LE has cctv that includes both mother and daughter, and mother was cropped out. Assuming this image is from a car rental company, they surely have video of the mother attempting to rent a car.

I have to believe LE has footage of both of them together.

EXACTLY. There has to be images at the counter when the adult driver hands over the drivers license and credit card.

If that smaller person in a wig and hoodie was the one doing so, then LE would not have decided that was Melodee. IMO

We don't know exactly what was meant by 'mental health issues.' If she has severe ones, then she could be delusional when assuming LE can never touch her.

I think if in fact Ashlee did relocate her daughter somewhere and SBCSO finds the location of her and knows she is safe they will make an announcement that she has been located and she is safe and that is the last that we will hear about the case. That is the primary goal of their investigation.

RE: wig, imo anyone that can do basic french braid can get a bulk of hair into a wig while it lays flat. that’s also what the utility of hair nets / wig caps.

I have no idea when this shot was taken,time wise, but, in the more recent picture of Ashlee entering her home she's about 1/2 that size , and in the recent picture ,also, to me it looks like Ashlee is wearing a long wig . It almost looks too thick to be real hair. From the google photo it's hard to tell if Melodee has her long hair , because of her position. Just mentioning what I'm observing, nothing to help solve this case.

That isn’t Ashlee, it’s someone else. Further, I don’t know for a fact that’s even Melodee. I should’ve qualified my post accordingly.

I read that the woman captured with Melodee in google street view was a teacher, but I cannot remember where, maybe the dailymail. So jmo
