I think you have misunderstood. She is not referring to Melodee's father. She is referring to the friends of Ashlee's father. I hope she knows who these are and has given the information to LE.

Thanks for the correction, my assertion still applies. Mind you, this is the Husband/Father who Lori said they had to literally flee from, and live in a DV shelter in Santa Maria to seek safety and a new life.

I cannot imagine a world where there isn't some component of the mom being mentally unwell. Mentally well parents don't act this way unless there is a boatload of context missing and her child's life is in danger.

Well we have to define mentally ill as a reason because essentially every offender in this board then qualifies right?

If this siting is credible, who is the woman with purple hair about 30 years old? It doesn't mention seeing Melodee or what color, model or plate number of the car.

I stated that was a trigger from the onset, read back. The truancy guidelines are very clear, it's an escalating process which culminates in a home visit from the school truancy officer. She also would have received calls, emails and letters in the lead-up.

The school, LE & CPS are trying to determine if a child who has already been removed from Ashlee's care twice - and is not attending school, is safe.

when i said "out to get you" i didn't mean biased or unfair, i meant literally out looking for you. that was awkward how i used the expression. ... i don't think there's anything wrong with what LE and CPS are doing.

the point i'm trying to make is this. i don't think it's totally crazy that she was already doing the subterfuge before LE got involved. if she saw where the escalation was going, she may have anticipated LE would get involved and try to see where she went on the road trip, and therefore covered her tracks with that in mind. i make that point in case anything thinks doing the subterfuge before LE got involved was nonsensical, therefore ashlee's totally lost her marbles, and all bets are off. i still think her behavior is entirely consistent with a person executing a rational plan (possibly taking melodee to hide with relatives), if she anticipated (correctly) that LE would get involved and try to reconstruct the road trip.

Well now we know she was with someone else at least in Utah. Purple hair, estimated age 30, no indication of male or female given in the article. Doesn’t say anyone saw Melodee?

Even if the stores did not have the footage anymore- there are enough people out there with dash cams in their cars, motorcycles included and not to mention there are Tesla models that include cameras as well. Some of the teslas don’t even need to be driving and can just be parked and cameras catch things. Someone has to have something.

In the Utah story link I posted the reporter interviewed the SB Sheriff PIO on camera. She said their tip lines are getting flooded. That’s great to hear.

My love-hate relationship with Websleuths is rearing its head. lol. I really like the mystery, clues, investigations, and discussions associated with missing persons. I hate that we are discussing real life situations, real human beings. It breaks my heart. Also, I just cannot fathom someone disappearing their child. I pray they find her safe. the kitten thing makes me wonder if ashlee participates in her neighborhood TNR group. or at least clicks *like* when they show up in her social media feed. .... and it's random, but hearing the story *slightly* raises my odds melodee is ok.
