has she Ashley been seen carrying groceries in .to the home . ever ......
Not in the last month, but she does reportedly receive Walmart home deliveries (according to nosy neighbors & MSM videos). The WM in Santa Maria is a Superstore with a full grocery.

I don't think Melodee looks out of range for her age at all, JMO. She's gotten taller and lost her chubby cheeks, keeping in mind the videos are grainy, oddly angled and likely not really representative of how her body may look in real life.

Maybe Ashlee is a prepper and has a fully stocked pantry & freezer? That's just as likely to be true as theorizing she's not being fed properly - all JMO.

I have no knowledge of Ashlee's mental health, and I am not a mental health expert.

While I believe a person with paranoid delusions might take actions to avoid being followed when they are not, I also think a sound minded criminal would do the same.

If you are doing something illegal, taking actions like switching plates, wigs and shoes to make establishing a timeline of your travels difficult is not delusional. It's a reasonable attempt to avoid getting caught.

MOO
Totally

Does anyone think about her changed appearance and clothing style that she has some secret man who could use her and the girl. I understand that she was hiding under a wig, but that's all her dressing, false eyelashes. Maybe she really left a child for some online man. Here's just one of the theories.

I am trying to understand why the disguise when she really (to me) is drawing attention to herself and child.

I'm really confused why Ashlee hasn't been ordered by a judge to produce her child, like was done in the Vallow case. Another thought I had was that maybe family members should try to get an emergency custody order to take over custody of Melodee. If granted, then Ashley could be arrested for not complying with a custody order. I'm just really irritated that this mother is currently allowed her freedom and want to see her back behind bars.

I have only followed this peripherally. It seems that LE is releasing very little information. My experience in these cases is that frequently LE knows much more than expected and is just waiting for final proof. Or possibly, they are waiting for reasonable cause to intervene.

I do have a low probability thought that there may multiple coconspirators. Wearing gaudy wigs which attract attention could be useful if there was a coconspirator also wearing gaudy wigs and carrying the cell phone. If that were the case, LE might have no clue where Melodee really is. But, I really don't know how such a plot could be hatched without leaving a digital trail somewhere.

Garcia said he is “pretty confident” Melodee made it back to California, citing neighbors’ observations.

“What was unusual about that is she backed that rental car up into the garage—something that neighbors said they had never seen her do. So that’s interesting," he said.

He plans to survey the Lompoc area in the coming weeks.

“If something happened to Melody along the route — maybe in Utah, maybe in Nevada — that could have major implications if Ashley didn’t address whatever situation that Melody may have encountered," Garcia said.

Wouldn't that be something, maybe Garcia is on to something with the thought Melodee did make it back to California? Ashlee was back home 10/10, the focus wasn't really on her or the home until 10/15. That's five days. But with no transportaion she would be so limited, I have to believe detectives were able to find any/all car rentals and would know where she went in each of them?

I think he's grasping at straws, thoughts?

I read that they had footage of her in Fillmore without Melodee at the gas station… so that doesn’t make sense to me. The part that makes sense is the backing into the garage being weird and detective being interested in the garage.

Maybe she wanted to clean that car of evidence somehow.

not so sure she backed the car up into the garage - we've seen the inside of the garage - there's crap everywhere ... unless she cleaned it out prior ...

Maybe not on October 10th? She got messy later I guess.

It's possible the footage didn't show Melodee because she was temporarily somewhere else while Ashlee was at the gas station, but then Ashlee retrieved her and returned to California with her.

There was a lot of LE performing investigative duties in that garage IIRC.

Fillmore is in California about 2 hours from her city.

i tend to agree. neighbors seeing her backing the car in is interesting, and worth investigating (as i'm sure the police are doing -- remember the forensics investigation in the garage?), but not enough to be "pretty confident" she made it back to california.

the next two thoughts that come to mind for me are that the police know more than he does, and it would raise the question of what the point of the road trip and subterfuge was. they were moving too fast to do much sight-seeing. from southern california to kansas and back in like 3 days is basically constant driving.

course it's still possible he's right. and it is certainly true that the longer this goes on, the less likely melodee is ok and in the care of an adult somewhere.

also, she's smiling in all the pictures we're using for reference, and not smiling in the videos
