IMO and based on personal experience, Ashlee doesn’t sound like she was experiencing a major episode (manic or depressive—as her mother has implied) at the time of this recording. Her speech isn’t pressured, her thoughts are clear and rational, and she doesn’t sound agitated, threatening, overly emotional or indifferent.

The indifferent thing was what stood out to me. I was picturing a woman who was not in touch with her feelings nor the expression of them. She has appeared to me and has been described by family members of being unusually quiet. The video of her carving a pumpkin with her young daughter seemed detached from what was going on but in the audio recording and most recent video's of her she is presenting as someone different.
She appears more confident when she is in full make up and with her wig on. Her weight loss is impressive and must help her self esteem. Honestly I still can't figure her out and I'm just rambling at this point. LOL. scroll away.

Interesting updates on this case. I was very much in the camp of mental illness potentially leading to neglect or abandonment. However, mum seems fully coherent, calculating and knows exactly what she is doing and saying. Hmm. Not sure if this makes me more or less worried about Melodee. MOO

I do think she does drive/deliver something she’s not supposed to be/doing something illegal. I think that’s why she changed plates and has been said to rent cars often. Also think she’s paid cash.

Re: the keys and 5 visits — I’m guessing he gained her trust by helping her with things, putting things into storage. She gave him keys because he was helping her. Once he thought he had gained her trust, he started fishing for information.

Even a low to medium price synthetic by Jon Renau, Raquel Welch, Paula Young, or Jaclyn Smith looks eons better than that hot mess.... I am talking 1-4 hundred dollars. I don't get it.

This wasn't directed at me but I have thoughts on it.

• I believe she has left Melodee with someone, and that someone must support her pretty strongly to sit tight while this media circus happens around her.
• It looks like someone may have bonded her out.
• It also appears that she has some sort of funds available for storage, transport, car hire, fuel, whatever else.
• There never has been an explanation for the stream of people who turned up at her door who looked like PIs, process servers or similar - Tyler Brewer excepted.
• It's not unreasonable to assume she's getting advice from somewhere wrt her rights. She seems to be one step ahead of the authorities in terms of what they can and cannot compel her to do.
• That journey across the country must have taken considerable planning and insight from people who know how to travel distances without being tracked at all times.

I can't see a situation in which a drug or other type of criminal enterprise would entertain childminding or risking bringing itself into the spotlight like this - that makes no sense to me. I reckon there's either someone who loves her very much, enough to keep her child, and just so happens to have a) funds and b) legal knowledge.... or, perhaps she's getting support from a political movement.

Just wanted to say that it was at all expected that this would enter the spotlight imo. The school reported it and so it did. There wasn’t risk, Ashlee messed up

Fair enough. Let me reword that. Wasn’t meaning to imply that she had a permit, just that a “concealed carry” crossbody bag could be used to carry a weapon whether permitted or not.
