I've been racking my brains on the name of that young Mom from years ago who said she left her baby with strangers. She did jail time and baby's father begged her for info??? I think the baby was a boy.

You would think that would be a crime. I guess not.

It absolutely boggles my brain that a parent can say I'm not telling you where my child is and the authorities just go oh okay then, as you were. I know that is simplifying the casse here. Hopefully they are collecting evidence by letting her carry on as normal. Moo

I did initially wonder about the trip, if Ashlee was being directed by someone and they kept changing locations. If that part is true, along with other parts of Tyler’s interview, trafficking sounds more and more likely.

I'm on the fence with trafficking. One thing Brewer said Ashlee told him caught my attention - she would rather see Melodee put in a foster/group home rather than with either side of her family.

If all he stated was true, I can see a situation where Ashlee felt increasing pressure from the school and thought Melodee was going to be removed from her care. That could have drove her to trust someone who manipulated her to gain possession of Melodee. So was her intent to traffick Melodee, I would say no. She wanted to get her out of the area, so authorities couldn't take her away.

But for that to be true, the FBI should have been able to find who she had been communicating with. What did Brewer say, can't remember - some sort of texting app? Something that is difficult to trace maybe? Does anyone know of a case where the FBI couldn't crack communications?

maybe Telegram or WhatsApp? Snapchat has really cracked down….

There was the case with Molly Duncan (SICKO) and Snapchat actually caught it (pedo)

Another example of this is Catherine Hoggle.

Curious if Ashlee recorded all her conversations with Travis and if LE has been able to listen to everything Travis and Ashlee talked about.

Also don’t understand why she wouldn’t have Melodee do the assignments so the school wouldn’t be looking into her. The school component keeps standing out to me as so strange.

IIRC, the app was Textnow

It seems so easy right?

There's a lot of dangerous misinformation about mental illness on this thread, by people who do not work and are not educated about mental health. I obviously can't and wouldn't make any judgements or guesses at someone's mental health status without talking to them in person, so I have no idea if the statements about her having bipolar or not are correct.

But to state that her having the "cunning" and "self-preservation" to record this man indicates she's not delusional, or in psychosis, or whatever, is flat out wrong. Many people with severe mental illness are paranoid and it's not uncommon for people with certain mental health conditions to record or document all their interactions with others due to paranoia. Also, a lot of people can be mentally ill or even in an acute state of psychosis and still be capable of intelligent planning, and of doing things that people from the outside would consider very cunning and to show a high level of self-awareness and foresight. It's actually extremely common for in-patients to behave in ways that staff label as "crafty".

For example, I have/had a dear friend who experienced an episode of severe psychosis during Covid and believed "They" were monitoring her in real time 24/7 via her phone and CCTV. This is a very nice normal ordinary woman who never had so much as a parking fine. In the middle of severe psychosis, she managed to come up with and implement a complex plan that involved her walking several miles via fields and forest (to avoid CCTV) to get to a small village shop so that she could purchase a PAYG phone with cash, in order to contact me without being monitored by "Them."

So the idea that someone having the foresight to grab their phone and start audio recording when they feel threatened, being indicative of anything regarding their mental health status, is simply not true and based on ignorance of psychosis and mental health in general.

Could go either way. She could be a person who had mental health issues and killed her daughter and is being deceptive… or she could have mental health problems and be having the psychosis you’re referencing. We’re all just speculating here bc that’s what we do. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it too 😌

The bipolar diagnosis came from Lori - Ashlee's mother, Lori Miranda, said Ashlee is bipolar and has been evaluated for her mental state from a young age. She also said it causes Ashlee to make up stories.

So unless Lori is lying, which I can't imagine she would make up something like that. We're not speculating about her mental health status, but this being a crime discussion forum your're right - we do speculate on theories based on available MSM information.

A little late with his theory, this has been going around for a month.
Bet LE wishes he would just go away.

Garcia has his own theory of what happened to Melodee.

"I suspect that Ashlee may actually be involved in some kind of trafficking, whether it be drug trafficking," he said. "I don't believe it's human trafficking, but all of the elements I've looked at fit the criteria of someone that's going to be a transporter."

He said this wasn't Ashlee's first trip to the Midwest, and police said she had rented cars before.

Garcia said that in those types of operations, the transporter takes the drugs to one location, gets handed money, and is responsible for bringing the money back to the sender.

"If something has gone wrong or if, for some reason, the people receiving — the people expecting any kind of funds to come back — had any kind of problems with Ashlee, they may have asked her or may have told her to leave Melodee with someone until she completed the project."

this aligns with @TMich6811 's theory from early on. I hope it isn't so :( Because with all the publicity around this case her mission is basically impossible now and that would make Melodee a liability to such individuals.
