The human remains were found on Dec. 14 in an area of Nevada known as Devil's Gate, near Silver City.

I am familiar with the area noted on the map that article referenced, which is near Lake Tahoe, in western Nevada not far from Reno. This didn't make any sense to me and I found the Devil's Gate Slot Canyon much closer to Elko NV.

Edited: This was INCORRECT information, now that the Press Release has given the correct information.
