FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno Police Department is looking for a 25-year-old woman who was reported missing from the city on Wednesday.

Police say the family and friends of Micaela Navarro have not heard from her since late August.

Police say Micaela stands 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs approximately 145 lbs, and has long brown hair and brown eyes.

I found a facebook page for a woman from Fresno with that name. From the photos I was thinking it wasn't her, but one of the missing posts on facebook from friends and family has a photo of her as a blond that is almost identical to one of those photos in her feed. The last post in August has me concerned if it is her. Micaela Navarro

That picture matches up with the blond hairstyle seen on her FB page. She has a lot of different hair styles/colors shown in her photo feed so no telling how she was wearing it last. Such a sad case, and it seems likely she's no longer with us. I understand that families like to submit the most attractive, respectable pic of their loved one who is missing, but that pic in the OP isn't helpful. It doesn't look like her, the way she looks now. At all.

Prayers she's found safe, but it seems unlikely.

Charges have been filed against two Fresno men for the murder of a missing Fresno woman, the Fresno County District Attorney says.

37-year-old Christopher Edward Stephen and 29-year-old Ryan Randall Sutter were charged by the DA on Wednesday

Court documents allege that on September 1, 2023, Stephens murdered 26-year-old Micaela Faith Navarro and then buried her body with the help of Sutter.

On Wednesday the DA says Stephens was charged with one count of murder and Sutter was charged with one count of accessory after the fact.

If convicted of all charges and allegations, attorneys report Stephens would face 25 years to life and Sutters would face three years in prison.

The DA says both suspects are scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 19.

Smart Search - Superior Court of California, County of Fresno He has a number of other criminal records you can see using the link, I haven't had time yet to go though them but I noted one was for domestic violance. If you look up Ryan Sutter in the same system, his charges were for '
001 ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT-(KNOWLEDGE OF CRIME) PC Felony 09/01/2023. His prior records seem to be almost all traffic (driving) related with the exception of a DUI and Resisting arrest charge about 9 years ago, and what may be a domestic case that was dismissed (there are some records without a middle name so am only noting the ones in the system under his full name).

Stephens will be back in court December 27th for a pre preliminary hearing, and faces 25-years to life if convicted.

He might not actually know where she is. Accessory after the fact means he assisted the perp AFTER the crime was committed and may not have been been there, typically doing so after the felony was committed by hiding or otherwise illegally aiding the perp and taking such actions intending that the perp avoid arrest, trial, and conviction.

Acting as an Accessory after the Fact is what attorneys will call a “wobbler” offense, which means that prosecutors can charge this offense as either a felony or a misdemeanor. When filing they consider the criminal history of the defendant, the facts of the case and the degree of assistance that was provided. He was charged with a felony so I'm a little surprised he was released.
