I hope voters keep in mind this DA's decision to remove the special circumstances. It's unconscionable! She could have potentially used that leverage to return the child's remains to her family. SMH

I don’t know how accurate the Wikipedia article is on Misch but it says that Misch was Paroled on November 14th 1988 and eight days later police found in his car the following. wire cutters, an axe, a large penknife and a flashlight. This was three days after Michaela was abducted by him i really don’t want to imagine what he may have done to her with all those tools in his car.

Serial killer's despicable courtroom insult to victims' families

The families of the victims of serial killer David Misch begged him in court to reveal the location of Michaela Joy Garecht, a nine-year-girl he is accused of killing in a separate case in 1988.

Misch's actions at the sentencing hearing yesterday were disgusting. Michelle and Jennifer's families begged him to reveal where Michaela is.

A jury trial for Michaela's case is scheduled on February 28th at 9:30 AM. I'm not sure if the trial will actually start on that date, but I'm hoping for swift justice.

It makes me want to cry that the families of the two women he killed begged him to reveal where the body of Michaela Garecht is! What wonderful people they are to not only care about their loved ones but also Michaela! God bless them!

I have been following Michaela’s disappearance for many decades now, and I always felt so bad for her family..

Read her mom's blog so often, hoping to read one day, it would be solved.

Now, I hope Michaela’s remains will be found, and buried with her moms..

I think with them reinstating the special circumstances (death Penalty on the table) He will plea bargain it down to life in prison and give up the location. This was the problem with the former DA. As soon as she removed it, he clammed up again when progress was being made.

IN this case a deal would be the right thing to do. I believe he already as a few murder convictions and will rot in jail. California unfortunately doesn't proceed with the death penalty anyways. But the conditions, especially as a child killer could make him do a deal for the location. I have followed this case since the beginning, and Sharon would just want her daughter found.

It says in the article that they not only had the palm print but a thumb print? Since he was out on parole for a sexual assault I dont know why Fremont PD did not check to see if he was a match? They would have had the finger prints on file even if they didnt have a palm print. I am hopeful that with the Special circumstances reinstated that he will make a deal and tell them where he discarded her body.
