When Binder said he thought they were put into already dug graves and people were buried on top of them.....I thought WHO WOULD THINK OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT? and the answer is a Psychotic would!

so it doesnt surprise me that nothing has been found, anyone sick enough to do this type of stuff has a mind to think up many places to hide them.

Police Interview Garridos About 23-Year-Old Case

HAYWARD, Calif. -- With the Jaycee Dugard case over, KTVU learned exclusively Monday that Hayward police recently interviewed Phillip and Nancy Garrido in prison about another Bay Area kidnapping that happened over two decades ago.

...

Last week, investigators got the opportunity to interview the couple about the Garecht case.

Police noted striking similarities between the two kidnapping victims.

"They could almost be sisters," said McAllister. "Both of the interviews lasted over two hours. Neither of the interviews revealed any direct link to the Michaela Garecht case."

...

Police are pouring over the taped interviews, rechecking facts before they re-interview the Garridos.

"We're not done yet," said McAllister.

I'm not convinced its Garrido.......but there are alot of similarities.
I Do hope that the scum bag that did this is sitting at home wondering if today is the day they come to get him! The Hayward police are never going to let this case drop, they will go after this case like Hell hounds on the trail!

And I like that!

After reading Jaycee Dugard's book, I don't think Phillip Garrido had anything to do with Michaela's disappearance. He was a sick individual, but I just don't think he abducted Michaela. Wonder if the investigators asked Jaycee if Garrido mentioned Michaela when she was held captive?

I'm sure that they did. I remember her mentioning that they showed her every one of the sex videos that PG made to verify that she was the other person in the videos. She said that it was her in every one of them. At that point, they certainly must have asked Jaycee if PG told her anything about Michaela Garecht or Irene Misheloff.

And when Jaycee visited Nancy in prison, though she did not say it in the book, I'm sure that the authorities probably asked her to try to coax that info out of Nancy. Nancy hinted at something that Phil had done that Jaycee would be disgusted by, but then stated that it was that he had tortured cats, and then changed her story and said that it was only a rat that he tortured.

I was getting the impression that Nancy was about to reveal something about a kidnapping or murder of another child, but then chickened out.

That's right Carl, I forgot about that part of the book. I was reading it last week while I was sitting on the beach...

What a sick man!!!!

I hope these investigators find out what happened to Michaela. it's been way too long!

This is amazing. Sharon posted a pic somone gave her of a blonde girl, that was their neighbor around 1990. It is a striking resemblence to Michaela. The pic was taken in Antioch, just 2 miles from the Garrido house.

She also says that an "advacate" was contacting Hayward police for a woman that said she thinks she used to live in Hayward but was taken and adopted by another family.

strange twists, I hope something positive comes from this.

BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I truly have hope for this case!

Bump!

Michaela's Mother is desperately trying to get the Hayward police to give more resources to this SOLVABLE case. She is thinking of setting up a non profit that can issue grants to the police department, so more detectives can go through the 15,000 + tips.

The anniversary of the abduction is coming up. It baffles me how this case has not been solved after all these years, and all the tips it has received. Here is to hoping that the detectives get that one clue that brings her home!

This case is one that I have read more about in the past two or three weeks.

It quite literally breaks my heart. To think some person changed the course of so many lives by one terrible act.

Every time I think about it I think of what Michaela is thinking and what happened in the years since.

I'm like everyone else and just want to know what happened and who did it. Of course, happy endings are great, but then I think of her parents and how terrible it is that their daughter was snatched from them like this.

I hope the police get some kind of break in this case soon.

Does anyone know if the Hayward police were ever able to get any further info based on the palm prints from Michaela's scooter? Is there a chance something is there that forensics could glean from it?

From reading Sharons blogs it seems the police have so many leads that sifting through them is the hard part. She said the hayward police were in discussions to give the resources to finally complete this case. I truly hope this happens, because whatever the outcome Sharon deserves to know what happened to her daughter......though I am truly hopeful for a ending that brings Michaela back alive. And I believe it is highly possible.
She had a person contact her last year who called herself an 'advocate" who said she had a woman who thought she might be Michaela. The woman remembered living in Hayward, and being used as a sex slave, and "sold" to another couple. The Advocate then said it wasnt in Michaela's best interest to get in touch with Sharon, and ceased contact.
The contact was made from a phone that was diposable and un traceable. so nothing since. If true or not, this is extremely cruel and I hope God sets aside a special place for this person.
The person that took her did it in broad daylight, 10Am on a saturday morning, in front of witnesses, but yet has never been caught. A person this brazen I would think would have done other kidnappings in a similar manner, yet I know of no others. So as sad as it is......I hope we are dealing with a Jaycee situation where Michaela is still alive and this can be solved. Maybe by Michaela herself.

I will hold out hope that the Hayward PD will work through all the leads very soon and one of them will resolve this case. Especially for Michaela's family because they deserve to know what happened, or better to see her again.

I had a dream last night that I showed a sort of documentary of Michaela's kidnapping to a class I am teaching and called it "The saddest story I know". In my dream the narrator would speak and there would be cut ins by Michaela herself speaking about her hobbies (in my dream it was basketball). When it came to the kidnapping (which happened differently in my dream as well), I cried in the dream and then woke up.

I will continue to pray for a resolution - hopefully a positive one - that will solve this case.

I looked for a thread specifically on Phillip Garrido that was relevant. I know that Sharon believes Garrido was not involved, but that Hayward PD has not ruled him out as a suspect. I was then thinking of a recent case of Kitty Wardwell where the report is that the person suspected of having something to do with her disappearance had passed away recently. The family then found a body in a storage unit inside of an unplugged freezer that they suspect is Wardwell.

This made me think - did (or does) Phillip or Nancy Garrido have any storage units themselves? Granted it seemed there was a lot of junk on their property, but I wonder if police have thought about this. If there is something, have they looked at it already? Do they have family who may know about it?

Sharon blogged awhile back that the Hayward police finally got to interrogate both Nancy and Phil. After hours of talking to them and a polygraph they no longer believe they had anything to do with the case. BUT there are 7 good suspects that she says if she told you each story, you would think thats it!

I believe there are over 14,000 leads that need to be tracked down and the detectives are swamped.

I am hoping to be there on the 19th , I still recall the day she went Missing as I grew up in Hayward, STill want this nightmare to end for Sharon one way or the other.

A nice article in the Castro Valley Patch in CA.

Although it's been 23 years since her daughter was abducted, Sharon Murch said she has not given up hope that Michaela Joy Garecht is still alive and out there.

"Hope is a funny thing," said Murch. "I think I probably have more hope now than I ever did before."

When Jaycee Dugard was found after being kept in captivity for 18 years, Murch thinks a similar reunion with her daughter is highly possible.

I have a question for everyone.
Have you ever heard of a similar kidnapping as this one? With a suspect matching the description? And you can forget Johnny Goesch I dont believe that is the suspect in his kidnapping.

My reason for this is, it doesnt sound like this guy attempted another daylight kidnapping in front of witnesses. If thats the case, maybe we have another Jaycee situation where she has been kept alive.
I know its slim but I will take slim in this case.

Whats sad is this guy took off down mission BLVD and almost crashed into alot of people, yet NO ONE came forward to give any details. A woman got ahold of sharon 3 months after the kidnapping, and said she saw the car and the driver, but was afraid he would come after her so she didnt report it......
Maybe its about time that others come forward and give this creep up. There has to be someone who knows something.

Also....The poice say they have a few really strong leads. One that will bring her home alive and another that will mean she is dead.
I know one thing and that is that Sharon isnt buying ANY story unless they find Michaela, one way or the other. And she will never stop searching.
