Wednesday, June 20th:
*Change of Plea Hearing (@ 8:30am PT) - CA - Girl (11) (June 20, 2017) - Kimberly Felder (45)("mom" arrested for brutal exorcism) accused of attempted homicide w/deadly weapon, felony child abuse & aggravated mayhem; plead not guilty by reason of insanity; $660K bail; criminal proceeds suspended pending Mental evaluation; no update as of 9/14/17 re mental evaluation hearing.
10/4/17 Update: After entering a not guilty by reason of insanity plea, Kimberly Felder was back in court Tuesday to hear who would conduct her psychological evaluation. The mother of three faces multiple charges including attempted murder. Felder will be evaluated by Doctor Roof and a second doctor to be determined at a hearing scheduled for October 17th.
10/17/17 Update: The 45-year-old mother of three did not appear in court Tuesday for a hearing to determine who would conduct her mental health evaluation. 4/9/18: Another delay in getting a mental eval. Postponed from 11/18/17, to 12/5/17, to 2/28/18 to 3/14 to 4/4 to 4/9 to 4/19 to 5/3 to 5/17.
4/19/18: Kimberly Felder's setting of preliminary hearing and status/report from Dr. Gregory has been continued five times. Next date May 3. Dr. Gregory is going to see Felder today (4/19) and tomorrow (4/20), according to Felder's attorney, interim Public Defender Marek Reavis.
5/3/18: Kimberly Felder's hearing to receive Dr. Gregory's report scheduled for May 3 was continued to May 17.
6/14/18 Update: Waived her right to prelim hearing on 6/13 and will be in court on Friday (6/15) morning for an arraignment hearing. She is expected to plead no contest to the first charge, attempted murder with the special allegation of causing great bodily injury. In exchange, the other four charges — child abuse, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting corporal injury upon a child — and one special allegation will be dropped.
6/15/18 Update: Change of Plea hearing today, 6/20 – 1 year to the day when attack happened!
6/16/18 Update: Felder pleaded not guilty & not guilty by reason of insanity to a charge of attempted murder & denied a special allegation of causing great bodily injury in front of Judge Christopher Wilson on Friday (6/15) morning. She will be back in court Wednesday for a trial to determine if she was insane at the time she attacked and seriously injured her daughter on June 20, 2017.
