I am curious if Flores has a prior criminal record. The attack on Nancy was very brazen and violent.
Did Flores think Nancy had left with the wedding party and wasn't expecting her at home and then Nancy confronted him and he freaked out or was this premeditated by Flores. Nancy's Family spoke to her the night of May 4 but she didn't show up to a 9:30am appointment the following morning which makes this crime had a small window of opportunity and how did he remove her body from the property w/o anyone noticing. If Nancy was living in the caretaker residence maybe its some distance from the rental property and maybe none of the guest were able to see or hear anything that night. This all very strange and so sad.
I just watched the 20/20 episode about this case that aired on 3/13/26, and Flores had no criminal record in the US or Mexico.
Peers/Contractors interviewed all had good things to say about him. However, following the murder, they did notice a change in his demeanor where he began asking to borrow money and mentioned trips to Vegas and hiring escorts, which went against his reputation as a family man and devoted father.
In fact, following the Google GeoFencing warrant-- where it was discovered that the Google ID at NW's cottage was linked to Flores, a warrant for Flores search history showed an extensive history for "Cougars in Sexy Lingerie." Authorities believe Woodrum, 62, was targeted by the younger Flores, 42.
Nancy Woodrum vanished from her California ranch in 2018, with police employing DNA and technology in their search for the person responsible.

In a subsequent interrogation, Fuentes Flores admitted to sexually assaulting Woodrum at Paradise Ranch, while intoxicated, and suffocating her with her pillow to cover up the assault.

Fuentes Flores waived his right to a trial by jury and, at a court trial, on January 20, 2022, Superior Court Judge Timothy Covello found him guilty of first-degree murder and found true the special circumstance allegations that the murder was committed during the commission of rape and residential burglary. The special circumstance findings require that Fuentes Flores be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
“Life in prison without the possibility of parole is an appropriate and just punishment for the brutal abuse and murder of Nancy Woodrum,” said District Attorney Dan Dow. “Our hearts remain with the Woodrum family and her loved ones who will always suffer the pain of her loss.”
The case was investigated by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation and was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Christopher Peuvrelle.
