"I came in the house, I saw them there. I go in the house, I came back out, I didn't see them there," Trezell West said.

Adoptive parents of missing 3 and 4 year-old California City kids speak out for the first time
Beyond the things already discussed, a few things stood out.

TW stated he was gathering wood from the vacant lot to start a fire in the house because it was cold. Was there no other source of heat, finances tight maybe?

In the full interview, TW says "the boys are rambunctious". I wonder if their playful nature set something in motion in the house?

A reporter asks TW & JW, "what time did the kids go missing and what time did you call police"? TW answers, "it was about I believe, I think it was about 4:30 or 5:00, it was getting dark outside, fiveish. That's about it, that's when everything played out".

Reporter asks, "what time did you call police"? JW answers "after we searched a little bit around here it was dark, so we definitely got worried".

"That's about it, that's when everything played out"????

A parent can always think of more. Usually a parent is beating down LE door with all the other things they can think of. I don't like it when anyone in a scary situation says, "That's about it."

I would never use the terms "that's when everthing played out" of my missing children.

Never.

As others have said, I'd really like to know when the last independent siting of the boys was. I'm unsure if any of the neighbors who have spoken out, actually live on that same street? At any rate, none have commented they have seen the boys, only that they are concerned and have been searching and trying to help.

Agreed! And with Covid many more are staying home and staying to themselves. Having a last independent sighting may be harder than we'd like.

No news so far.
"I realized that I left the back gate open and I panicked and came inside the house, searched the house, me and my wife. Once that didn't pan out, I got in the van, I looked down the street in both directions, it was getting dark, getting cold," said West.

West said, he then called the police within minutes.
...
Bio mother RD says she worked hard to get her life on track and wanted to get custody of her boys back eventually. But now, she thinks that will never happen and is blaming the adoptive parents.
...
Cal City Police and various agencies were back out on the scene Wednesday, their focus was on the backyard area where the parents say the children were last seen.

Now according to several witnesses, the adoptive parents were seen leaving with authorities again, they said they did not have handcuffs on.
New details in the disappearance of toddlers Orson and Orrin West
These quotes by adoptive dad, to me, seem contradictory.

Agreed. A very unusual choice of words given the circumstances.
However, I am going to withhold judgement until we know more.
We are all jaundiced by thread after thread of nefarious guardians.

In this case the older tike could have been trying to get them to go track down Santa, find bio Mom or who knows. Or, they could gotten out and have succumbed to the elements, or other sad outcomes.

Clearly, the back yard activity is not a good sign at all.
However, I am going to withhold judgement and try to stay optimistic.
Prayers for these two tikes.

Amateur opinion and speculation

There were other children in the home that are older, no solid reports anywhere of how many or age. I would bet one of them has said something substantive, especially in regards to when the boys were last seen. So sad for all these babies that will be displaced after also living through the trauma of losing their baby brothers :(
I wonder if either of the adults has said anything conflicting already in FBI interrogations, I’m sure they’ve separated them.
Also wonder if the couple is staying in a hotel like Letecia Stauch during Gannon’s investigation?

All great questions...

Av reason may have been needed to explain the boys absence on Christmas. These types of cases pop up right before an impending visit.

Just to remind to everyone about Websleuths Victim Friendly rule.

VICTIM FRIENDLY

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civil and constructive way, and only when such behavior is known to be relevant to the case.

The "victim friendly" rule extends to the family members of victims and suspects. Sleuthing family members, friends, and others who have not been designated as suspects is not allowed. Don't make random accusations, suggest their involvement, nor bash and attack them. Posting their personal information, including names, addresses, and background data -- even if it is public -- is not allowed. That does not mean, however, that statements made by family members and other third parties cannot come into discussion as the facts of the case are reported in the media.

Parents are considered innocent victims until/unless LE officially names them as a POI or suspect.

In this case, we have 2 sets of parents. It is fine to discuss what all the parents have to say in their interviews or as related in MSM or from LE, but do NOT make insinuations or direct accusations against any of them and do not sleuth them.

Please Report any posts that you feel are not in line with TOS and we will review it.

Thank you.

The one and only update I can find!
AV news just posted a video in front of the house which is dark and vacant. Zero communication coming out of police headquarters and FBI to any news media.

Neighbors chanting at the adoptive parents' home of Orrin and Orson West, the toddlers from Cal City who have been missing since Monday. Catch up on the details here: https://turnto23.com/news/local-news/two-cal-city-boys-still-missing-backyard-now-a-part-of-investigation…

According to neighbors, police arrived at the foster parent's house Wednesday night, they also say that Cal City Police along with the FBI started digging in the backyard which caught the attention of Wayne Leonard.

“There was lots of noise, like jack-hammering, like they were trying to dig through dirt or break concrete,” said Leonard.

What??
Chanting at their house?
What does that mean?

Jackhammering sound?
Oh that makes my stomach hurt...

I found it odd that the dad made a point that he wanted to search nearby homes. I believe right after he said they’re rambunctious, as if the two were related. Any vacant properties nearby that they could’ve been left at/inside? Why make a point about wanting to search nearby homes.

It appears that there are no searches around the area, no helicopters or drones, no requests for tips or sightings or out of place or unrecognizable vehicles, no warnings to residents regarding a possible abductor of young children, ....and no updates (at least not that I'm aware of)
Such silence is rather deafening...imo.

Random community members have been parked outside the home yelling and chanting for two days now. Some say they are yelling support to the LEOs, but what I heard just sounded like a lot of vulgar yelling for the adoptive parents to "come out" and talk. It's kind of ticking off the local neighbors.
